Can Tho University becomes a world-recognized medical training institution

Can Tho University (DNC) has just held a ceremony to announce the decision to establish DNC International Medical Faculty.

At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Van Quang, Principal of Nam Can Tho University, said that the school currently offers 42 regular undergraduate majors, 6 master's majors and 1 doctoral major.

Recently, Nam Can Tho University has officially signed a cooperation agreement with VMED Organization (India) on consulting on study abroad services and receiving and training international students.

Accordingly, this first batch has about 150 international students studying at the school, the scale will be increased in the following years. The establishment of DNC International Medical Faculty is the next step in the process of innovation, completion and expansion of international cooperation in the field ofeducation and training, applied scientific research for both lecturers and students.

This will be the place to receive and train international students from countries such as India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Middle Eastern countries and other countries who will participate in the training program in the health sector that has been licensed to train at Nam Can Tho University.

In particular, Nam Can Tho University is officially on the list of medical universities that meet the criteria voted by the prestigious website WDOMS (World Directory of Medical Schools), becoming a recognized medical training address in the world . This is also a premise for the school's medical students to have the opportunity to be allowed to take the US residency exam.

Thereby, it will open up opportunities for international students to study and intern at Can Tho University, helping students from other countries access advanced, internationally-standardized education right from the beginning of university level at Can Tho University.

According to the announcement of Nam Can Tho University, after 11 years of establishment, DNC is training 8 medical majors, 2 pharmaceutical majors, 1 dental - maxillofacial major at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Students of the university's health sector can both study and practice at Nam Can Tho University Hospital and the university's Institute of Research and Development of Medicinal Materials.

At the ceremony, the Board of Directors of Nam Can Tho University announced the decision to appoint Associate Professor, Doctor Phillip Tran to concurrently hold the position of Dean of DNC International Medicine Faculty; the decision to establish the International Medical Science Council and launch the DNC international medical textbook in English.
