On the morning of July 6, the Center forEducation Quality Assessment (Ho Chi Minh City National University) awarded the certificate of educational quality assessment according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training to the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City. Established in 1976, this university is under the State Bank of Vietnam.
The Board of Directors of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City received the certificate of quality assessment of educational institutions.
Previously, Ho Chi Minh City Banking University was granted a certificate of educational quality accreditation according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training for the period 2017-2022.
After the second cycle of educational institution assessment conducted from 2022, the Center for Education Quality Assessment has issued a decision to recognize the school as meeting the educational quality standards issued by the Minister of Education and Training.
In addition, the school is also certified for Quality Management System according to ISO 9001:2015 standards, and AUN-QA quality accreditation for 6 training programs.
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam, Director of the Center for Education Quality Assessment, said that the activities of the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City are compatible with 25 standards and 111 assessment criteria. This result was obtained after the assessment team, in addition to studying self-assessment records, surveying facilities, observing, exchanging and discussing with over 200 representatives of leaders, lecturers, staff, students, former students and employers.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Principal of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, said that he will seriously accept comments and recommendations to continuously improve, innovate and enhance quality to serve the interests of learners.
Sharing more about the strategic goals for quality in the coming period, Mr. Trung said that the school aims to have 100% of training programs accredited by 2024, and to have the quality of educational institutions accredited according to AUN-QA standards by 2025, moving towards participating in prestigious university rankings in the region and the world .
The goal of the Ministry of Education and Training is that by 2025, at least 35% of training programs nationwide will meet quality standards according to the first accreditation cycle.
In many current regulations, meeting quality assessment standards is one of the important evaluation criteria related to university education institutions, such as: determining targets, determining tuition fees...
For example, Decree 81 of the Government on the mechanism for collecting and managing tuition fees for educational institutions in the national education system and policies on tuition exemption and reduction, support for learning costs; service prices in the field of education and training stipulates that training programs that meet the quality accreditation level of training programs according to standards set by the Ministry of Education and Training or foreign standards are allowed to self-determine tuition fees based on economic and technical norms issued by educational institutions, and publicly explain to learners and society.
