On the morning of October 31, when the flood waters receded, many schools in Da Nang City were submerged in mud.

Units of Military Region 5 and the city's armed forces simultaneously launched a general cleaning campaign to help schools stabilize soon so students can return to class.

At Tran Quoc Toan Primary and Secondary School (Hoi An ward), the green-shirted soldiers of Company 1, Battalion 2, Military School of Military Region 5 were present early in the morning, starting to help the school.

The school yard was muddy and covered in mud, with tables and chairs strewn about and tree branches scattered everywhere. The soldiers and teachers shared the work: some raked the mud, others cleaned the tables and chairs, and classroom doors.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, a teacher at Tran Quoc Toan Primary and Secondary School, emotionally said: “Without the soldiers, the school would have taken many days to clean up. Seeing them covered in mud, everyone felt sorry and grateful.”

Meanwhile, at Hoang Dieu Primary School (Nong Son Commune), thick mud covered the school after the water receded. The school was flooded nearly 1 meter deep, the facilities were severely damaged, desks and chairs were covered in mud.

As soon as the water receded, officers and soldiers of the K55 Technical Warehouse under the Logistics and Technical Department urgently supported the school in cleaning up, cleaning tables and chairs, clearing the water flow, and disinfecting the entire campus. The soldiers diligently and meticulously cleared each layer of mud, each corner to restore the space to a clean state.
