This year, nearly 3,300 candidates took the exam to assess student abilities to enroll in grade 6 of this school. The competition ratio was more than 1/7, on average, for every 7 students who took the exam, only one passed.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Cau Giay Secondary School will maintain its enrollment target of 440 students as in 2024, divided into 11 classes. However, the method of calculating enrollment scores has changed compared to previous years.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Cau Giay Secondary School maintains its enrollment target of 440 students.

Candidates take three tests to assess their abilities in the following subjects: Math, Vietnamese and English. The admission score is the sum of the three tests, the ability assessment, plus priority points (if any). This is considered to ensure fairness and objectivity for students.

Priority points are calculated from 1-2 points for children of families under policy: Children of martyrs, war invalids, heroes of the armed forces, parents are ethnic minorities...

The competency assessment test is in a multiple-choice and essay format, with content mainly from the 5th grade curriculum of the 2018 General Education Program. Each test lasts 45 minutes, on a 10-point scale.

This is different from previous years, the school has eliminated the form of adding up the 5-year primary school report card score. In previous years, the maximum score considered was up to 10 points.

Admitted students will complete admission procedures at the school from June 22 to 23. “After that time, if parents do not submit admission documents, it will be considered that the student does not want to study at Cau Giay Secondary School for the 2025-2026 school year,” the school announced.

Admission documents include: Original primary school transcript; certified copy of birth certificate; priority certificate (if any); ID card/Citizen ID card/Personal identification of the student (father/mother/guardian); commitment to actual residence in Cau Giay district, permanent residence in Hanoi according to the form (for students without permanent residence in Cau Giay district); student account code and password (issued by primary school).

After the results are out, students who are still unsure about their scores can apply for a re-evaluation to have their test re-graded. The school will return the re-evaluation results on June 25.
