On May 19, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province said that he had invited representatives of Phan Chu Trinh Primary, Secondary and High School to work because of the incident that led to leaked exam questions, forcing nearly 20,000 9th grade students in the province to retake the Math test for the second semester.

During the working process, Phan Chu Trinh Secondary School (a non-public school in Di An city, Binh Duong province) provided complete documents as required to the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province.

Based on the records and regulations, the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province has issued a decision to administratively sanction Phan Chu Trinh Primary - Secondary - High School for the incident that led to the disclosure of exam questions according to Article 15 of Decree 04/2021 of the Government on regulations on administrative sanctions in the fieldof education . Accordingly, the school was fined 8.5 million VND for the act of "Organizing tests and evaluating students' learning outcomes not in accordance with current laws".

The leader of the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province added that because this is a non-public school, the department does not have the authority to discipline the staff who caused the incident. Accordingly, the Board of Directors of Phan Chu Trinh Primary, Secondary and High School proactively held a disciplinary meeting to discipline a Vice Principal with a reprimand, and the Head of the School Office received a warning. The records of the meeting and disciplinary process of the school staff have been fully provided to the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province.

Previously, Voice of Vietnam (VOV) reported that Phan Chu Trinh Secondary School requested to organize the second semester exam with the same exam questions as the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province and received approval.

However, due to a mistake, the school organized for 9th grade students to take the second semester math test one day earlier than the Department's regulation on April 26. This incident caused a stir among parents in Binh Duong, who believed that the test questions might have been leaked.

Upon discovering the incident, the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province organized a math retest for nearly 20,000 grade 9 students across the province to ensure fairness and objectivity.
