Communicate to students about the harmful effects of tobacco

On the evening of May 23, the University of Information and Communication Technology (Thai Nguyen University) organized a communication program on preventing the harmful effects of tobacco; alcohol abuse and non-communicable diseases. The event attracted a large number of students, demonstrating the University's concern for the physical and mental health of the younger generation.

At the program, staff from the Thai Nguyen Provincial Center for Disease Control disseminated a lot of information about the harmful effects of tobacco and cigarette smoke on human health; introduced the regulations of the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms, emphasizing everyone's right to live and work in a smoke-free environment.

The program also mentioned that smoking is one of the major risk factors for common non-communicable diseases such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory diseases – diseases that are increasing in the community.

At the same time, students are equipped with knowledge about the harmful effects of alcohol abuse - one of the leading causes of traffic accidents, mental disorders and chronic liver disease...

The highlight of the event was the message calling on students to become active propagandists in spreading knowledge, encouraging friends and relatives to quit smoking, limit alcohol and maintain a healthy lifestyle. This is not only an act to protect one’s own health but also a responsibility to the community, contributing to building a civilized, smoke-free school environment.

Through this activity, the University of Information Technology and Communications affirms the role ofeducational institutions in preventing the harmful effects of tobacco and health risk factors, gradually creating a solid foundation for the comprehensive development of students - the future owners of the country.
