Self-reflection to correct oneself according to each content of Regulation 144-QD/TW

In order to effectively carry out the task of promoting the building and rectification of the Party and the political system; resolutely preventing, repelling, and strictly handling cadres and party members who have degraded in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation", it is extremely necessary to prescribe ethical standards for cadres and party members in the current period. The content of the document is both inherited and updated, supplementing standards suitable to the context, situation, and requirements of the revolutionary cause in the new situation.

In a market economy , facing the strong changes in social relations, for many people, the mentality of considering money as the most important is overshadowing the inherent good values of society. They degenerate, disregarding everything to do things that cadres and party members are not allowed to do. Their self-cultivation and training are taken lightly, leading to violations. Many cadres and party members, including high-ranking cadres, have been handled according to Party regulations and the law for committing violations, the root of which is the violation of ethical standards. Regulation 144-QD/TW of the Politburo clearly shows the Party's requirements for each cadre and party member, requiring each person to voluntarily study, research, and self-reflect to cultivate and train.

With only 6 articles, from Article 1 to Article 5 is the concretization of revolutionary ethical standards for cadres and party members in the new period. Article 6 is the regulation on implementation. The contents of revolutionary ethical standards for cadres and party members are concretized into each clause associated with the name of the ethical standards. It can be seen that the regulations in the document go from the big, the core to the specific, guiding the standards very clearly, easy to understand, easy to remember according to the requirement "Clearly recognize right and wrong. Maintain a firm stance. Be loyal to the country. Be filial to the people". We Vietnamese people have the same origin, we call each other the two affectionate words "compatriots", so it is natural that true communists must be loyal to their Fatherland. Patriotism goes hand in hand with respect for the people and absolute loyalty to the Party and the Fatherland, that is the first criterion that every cadre and party member must imbibe. Each person must recognize the sabotage tricks of hostile forces to "generate resistance" to those tricks, to avoid being trapped, deceived, "self-evolved", "self-transformed". In Vietnam, the Party's viewpoints and ideals are intertwined with the interests of the People, the interests of the nation, and the interests of the people, so protecting the Party's ideological foundation is also fighting for the values of the nation and the people. This is the responsibility of every cadre and party member on the ideological front.

As a revolutionary, one must always have courage , innovation, creativity, and integration . The courage of a party member and cadre is shown in their steadfastness and firmness in the face of all difficulties and challenges. Dare to think, dare to speak, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, dare to innovate, be creative, dare to face difficulties and challenges, act for the common good, for the country, for the people. To innovate and be creative, research, study, and apply theoretical issues of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, the Party's guidelines, and the State's legal policies must be carried out regularly and seriously. In an integrated world like today, besides opportunities and advantages, there are also many factors of great change, rapid, complex, and unpredictable developments that threaten the trend of peace , independence, nation, democracy, cooperation, and development. The country is facing many intertwined opportunities, advantages, difficulties and challenges, posing many problems to be solved, which requires cadres and party members to proactively improve their knowledge, skills and working capacity in the international environment.

The ethics of cadres and party members in all eras cannot be separated from the requirements: diligence, thrift, integrity, uprightness, impartiality. In front of work, each person must always be dedicated, responsible, dedicated, and strive to best complete the assigned tasks; not be extravagant or wasteful; not be corrupt or selfish; be honest, straightforward, objective, impartial, actively fight for self-criticism and criticism, not hide shortcomings, not speak untruths; protect what is right, fight for what is wrong, and always work for public affairs.

Solidarity, discipline, love, and responsibility are also moral principles that each of us must always cultivate and improve. A united collective always creates strength to overcome difficulties and challenges. That solidarity must be based on the spirit of maintaining discipline and order, not on the spirit of peace, covering up mistakes and shortcomings; not avoiding responsibility, or pushing work. For a good collective, each person must always live with affection, sincerity, love, treat and help comrades, colleagues and everyone according to reason, in accordance with national morality, and progress together.

From the above criteria, cadres and party members must always be exemplary, modest, self-cultivated, trained, and lifelong learners . The higher the position of cadres and party members, the more exemplary they must be; superiors must be exemplary before subordinates, party committees must be exemplary before party members, and party members must be exemplary before the masses. Being exemplary is not enough, but one must also convince family and relatives to comply well with the Party's policies and guidelines, and the State's policies and laws. In work and in life, one must be modest, receptive, and simple; constantly study, cultivate, train, and improve one's qualities, ethics, qualifications, and working capacity. Words must go hand in hand with actions, actions must go hand in hand with words, and words must be done.

On August 26, 2024, Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 2671 on the implementation of Regulation 144-QD/TW, requiring Party committees, Party organizations, agencies and units to be responsible for specifying the implementation of revolutionary ethical standards in the new period along with the annual plan to study and follow Uncle Ho. Review, supplement, and concretize into professional ethical standards and public service ethics for implementation. Conduct preliminary and final summaries, register new models, typical collectives and individuals in many forms and promptly commend and reward exemplary collectives and individuals, pioneers in implementing revolutionary ethical standards associated with studying and following Uncle Ho, which are convincing and widely spread.

This is an important task, requiring propaganda work to be carried out regularly, extensively, and richly with the participation of the entire political system. The losses and damages of the recent storm No. 3 have been a test for cadres and party members so that each person can look back at themselves, reflect on their love and responsibility towards their fellow countrymen, and on their mettle to make decisions when the people and society need them. In those areas of floods and landslides with many difficulties, cadres and party members who have gone through reality are further cultivated and tested in their political and moral qualities to mature. Those who are cowardly, irresponsible towards the people, lacking in morality and talent will be exposed by reality and eliminated by the people and the organization.

The revolutionary ethical standards in Regulation No. 144 QD/TW are like a lamp that illuminates, helping us always remember the core values that our Party has worked hard to build. Each party organization, each cadre and party member must examine and correct themselves every day to train, shape themselves, and conform to those standards. Cultivation must be self-made, must be kept in mind in every action and every statement. Not everyone is perfect, the problem is that we ourselves must be aware of our imperfections, be receptive to comments from comrades and colleagues, know when we are wrong and correct them, and know when we are right and promote them.
