According to Chinese media, the Chinese Football Association has invited the Vietnam U22 team to participate in the Panda Cup 2023 friendly tournament, which will take place during the FIFA Days in June.
The Panda Cup is an annual international tournament for young players organized by China. This year, in addition to the host team, there are expected to be three invited teams: U22 Bahrain, U22 Uzbekistan, and U22 Vietnam.

General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Duong Nghiep Khoi, confirmed that they have received an invitation from the Chinese Football Association. The VFF will send the Vietnam U22 team to participate in this tournament.
Thus, about a month after the 32nd SEA Games, coach Philippe Troussier and his team will have another high-quality tournament to gain experience. This is an opportunity for the Vietnam U22 team to prepare optimally for the 19th Asian Games, which will take place in China next September.
In the past, the Vietnam U22 team, under the guidance of coach Park Hang Seo, defeated the China U22 team on their home ground in 2019. Two goals from striker Nguyen Tien Linh in each half secured a 2-0 victory for coach Park's team against Guus Hiddink's side.
Apparently unwilling to accept this defeat, the Chinese side is determined to invite the Vietnam U22 team to participate in the Panda Cup 2023 to get revenge.
The Vietnam U22 team has been training since the beginning of March 2023 to familiarize themselves with coach Philippe Troussier's tactics. The team recently played three matches in the Doha Cup, losing all three. According to the plan, the U22 team will reconvene on April 17th, giving them over 10 days to prepare for the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia.
