U23 Vietnam practices lightly, preparing for a closed friendly match with U23 Jordan

The U23 Vietnam players only rested for a few hours upon landing in Qatar before going to the training ground. Due to the long journey, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan had his players do light exercise to adapt to the biological rhythm due to the 4-hour time difference.

The team will practice one more session this afternoon, April 9, before playing a closed friendly match with U23 Jordan on April 10. This is the only preparatory match for U23 Vietnam before entering the tournament.

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan wants to use the maximum number of players to check their performance before making adjustments in the next training sessions. From there, the Khanh Hoa coach has a basis to finalize the list of 23 players participating in the 2024 U23 Asian Cup finals on April 16.

Qatar is entering summer. However, the weather is cool and drizzly. Therefore, the players are training in comfortable conditions.

Currently, the U23 Vietnam team has 27 players. All are in stable health.

Goalkeeper Quan Van Chuan (center) is likely to be the number 1 choice in goal for U23 Vietnam.

Nguyen Van Tung was called up as a replacement when Nguyen Thanh Nhan was injured and returned to the club.

Vo Nguyen Hoang is one of four players that coach Hoang Anh Tuan adjusted compared to the preliminary list of 50 players that coach Troussier registered with AFC, along with Nguyen Thanh Khai, Nguyen Duc Viet, and Nguyen Manh Hung.

Nguyen Dinh Bac (left) showed a relaxed mentality while training with U23 Vietnam. Recently, this player has received a lot of criticism about his performance.

Khuat Van Khang could be the choice on the left flank of the U23 Vietnam defense after Vo Minh Trong and Phan Tuan Tai were removed from the list due to injury.
