Delegate the implementation of a number of tasks related to the environmental field to the Department of Agriculture and Environment.

(CT) - Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 849/QD-UBND on authorizing the implementation of a number of tasks related to the environmental field under the decision-making authority of the City People's Committee according to the provisions of the Law on Environmental Protection 2020.

Accordingly, the City People's Committee authorized the Department of Agriculture and Environment to perform a number of tasks: organize the appraisal of environmental impact assessment reports and submit them to the City People's Committee for approval of the appraisal results of environmental impact assessment reports; organize the inspection and appraisal of environmental licenses (granting, renewing, re-granting, adjusting) and submit them to the City People's Committee for decision on granting environmental licenses. The Department is also authorized to decide on sending officers and civil servants to inspect the actual waste treatment facilities of investment projects and facilities during the trial operation process for cases under the authority of the City People's Committee as prescribed in Point b, Clause 10, Article 31 of Decree No. 08/2022/ND-CP (not constituting an administrative procedure).

The authorization period ends on December 31, 2025, unless the provisions of law on related content change.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment is responsible to the City People's Committee and competent authorities for authorized content; it is not allowed to authorize other agencies or units to implement authorized content in this decision.
