Operation of "lowering the water level" of Serepok 3 hydropower plant

Buon Kuop Hydropower Company said that in order to proactively respond to the complicated developments of the tropical depression in the East Sea that could potentially affect Dak Lak, the unit has operated the Serepok 3 hydropower reservoir in the "lowering the reservoir water level" mode.

Accordingly, this reservoir will discharge water at a flow rate greater than the total water flow to the reservoir to gradually lower the reservoir water level to the lowest flood level according to the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure on the Serepok River Basin and the Reservoir Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Coordination Plan.

At 4:30 p.m. on December 2, 2025, the water level of Serepok 3 Lake was at 271.9 m, the water flow into the lake was 671 m ³ /s, the total discharge flow was 788 m ³ /s. The working status of equipment, spillway, and construction was normal.

To proactively coordinate response, the unit has notified the Civil Defense Command of Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces, the hydrometeorological agency and downstream localities.
