Mr. Luu Hong Minh - Chairman of Tan Hop Commune People's Committee said: According to the first phase plan in 2025, the commune will implement the solidification of over 6 km of rural roads, mainly concretizing roads in the villages: Lang Cau, Hanh Phuc, Ghenh Ngai, Khe Det and Da Bia. To avoid spreading and low efficiency, Tan Hop commune has focused resources on prioritizing villages with inter-village traffic systems, village branches, and production roads with low concretization rates to concentrate resources on completing them first. On that basis, the commune has promoted propaganda, integrating movements launched by the district such as the "Movement to donate land for rural roads" and other movements launched by the district, the commune has propagated and mobilized people to donate land, trees, crops on the land, contribute cash, and labor to concretize rural roads to ensure the completion of the set plan.
Identifying rural transport as an important condition for trade of goods, promoting production development, creating jobs, and increasing income for people, in addition to the State's investment resources, villages in the commune have focused on mobilizing people to contribute labor, cash, and clear trees and crops to level the ground, widen the roadbed, and concrete the sidewalks according to plan. People with money contribute money, people without money contribute labor to level the ground. Depending on the economic conditions and characteristics of each household, the village proposes different levels of contribution. Thanks to that, the rural road construction movement has received the support of the people. Up to now, the commune has completed over 3.3 km of concrete road, reaching over 50% of the plan. Taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, the commune strives to complete 100% of the plan in May 2025.
Mr. Ban Van Kim, Lang Cau village, Tan Hop commune happily said: "Through the village meeting, our people highly agreed with the policy that when this road is expanded, we are willing to donate land to that extent without asking for compensation... As for my family, we have also donated over 1,500 square meters of land to build the road..."
Along with Tan Hop commune, in the first phase of 2025, Mo Vang commune registered to build nearly 2.5 km of concrete road. As soon as the plan was allocated, the commune reviewed and selected the necessary sections and routes for construction; at the same time, stepped up propaganda so that people could move fences and donate land to create a flat surface for the construction unit. Along with that, the commune focused on mobilizing resources from enterprises, business households, and people to promptly have counterpart funds. The locality also urged contractors to take advantage of favorable weather to focus on construction, ensuring the set progress and quality.
"My family has been here for decades. Before, the roads in the village were very difficult to travel, especially taking students to and from school. Now, with the support of the State, we are very excited and willing to donate land, trees, crops, etc. with the hope that the road will be completed soon to serve the exchange of goods and economic development," said Mr. Cu A Chung, Trung Tam village, Mo Vang commune.
Thanks to the solidification of rural roads, the appearance of the countryside in Van Yen district has changed a lot.
Implementing the rural transport development project for the period 2021 - 2025, Van Yen district sets the goal of solidifying over 443 km of rural roads and solidly expanding over 23 km of rural roads. In 2024 alone, the district strives to solidify over 95 km of rural roads, solidly expand nearly 8 km of rural roads and strives to basically have the entire rural system in the district meet the prescribed standards by 2025.
Mr. Luu Trung Kien - Vice Chairman of Van Yen District People's Committee said: In 2025, Van Yen district will continue to focus on the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, government, departments, branches, and organizations of the district and grassroots; mobilize maximum resources from the state and the community to implement the solidification of over 66 km of rural roads. To achieve this goal, from the beginning of the year, the district has reviewed, developed plans, and allocated specific capital for localities to implement. During the implementation process, the district has focused on mobilizing and integrating resources from the budget, integrated capital sources of programs and projects, socialized mobilization sources of enterprises and people associated with the movements launched by the district to accelerate the solidification process of rural roads.
In which, promoting the role of the people as the main subject in supporting, contributing labor, donating land, assets, crops on the land and actively contributing funds to concretize roads in their residential areas, creating a vibrant and widespread emulation movement.
At the same time, people are involved in all stages of the rural road construction process according to the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise". Thanks to that, up to now, the whole district has completed the first phase of solidification in 2025 for over 37.6 km, equivalent to 56.8% of the assigned volume; solidified and widened the road surface of 4.49 km, equivalent to 70.7% of the assigned volume; opened a new roadbed of 5.8 km, equivalent to 24.6% of the assigned volume; expanded the roadbed of 5.3 km, equivalent to 56.2% of the assigned volume.
The outstanding results in traffic not only change the appearance of the countryside in Van Yen district but also create a synchronous connection between the important national traffic axis and the local traffic system. Thereby, creating conditions for the production process to be continuous and rapid, expanding the raw material area, attracting investors and businesses to invest in agriculture and rural areas, contributing to job creation, poverty reduction and improving the quality of life of people in the district.
