On November 2, news from the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that the unit is reviewing and synthesizing opinions from units and advising the City People's Committee to adjust and complete the pilot set of standards to be consistent with the current system of legal documents.
The review and adjustment aim to ensure consistency, unity and create a favorable legal corridor for the implementation of high-quality, advanced, internationally integrated educational content in the coming period, towards implementation in the 2026-2027 school year.
According to the City Department of Education and Training, educational institutions that are implementing or have a need to implement high-quality educational content should base on the current pilot set of standards to proactively review and self-assess the current situation, determine the needs, conditions, and resources of the unit; update information, adjust development orientation to suit the new context, especially in terms of professional cooperation, digital transformation, and mobilization of socialized resources.

Based on the review results, educational institutions develop projects or plans to implement high-quality educational content. The content of the projects and plans must clearly show: Legal basis, current situation, goals and development orientation; key solutions, implementation roadmap, implementation mechanism; conditions to ensure staff, facilities, finance, cooperation, digital transformation; commitment to feasibility, publicity, transparency and suitability to the actual conditions of each unit.
After completion, the unit submits to the People's Committee of the ward, commune, or special zone for consideration and agreement on implementation policy according to management decentralization; units under the Department of Education and Training send to the department for guidance and consideration according to regulations.
Latest decision of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on advanced, high-quality schoolsAs for educational institutions that have been recognized as meeting standards according to the previously issued set of criteria, they must proactively review, update, and self-assess their level of compliance with the current pilot set of standards as a basis for adjusting and supplementing the school development plan; at the same time, they must carry out the recognition dossier according to the new set of standards if they meet the requirements after the City People's Committee issues them.
It is known that Ho Chi Minh City currently has 39 schools from kindergarten to high school implementing the advanced, high-quality school model. However, the 39 schools above belonged to Ho Chi Minh City (old), before the merger. After the merger with Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau, the Ho Chi Minh City Education and Training sector has the largest scale in the country with nearly 3,600 schools at all levels.
