The Singapore Tourism Board, Vietnam Airlines and Sentosa Development Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation on the morning of May 20 to promote tourism and expand connectivity between Vietnam and Singapore in the context of the impressive growth in the number of visitors to the island nation in the region.
Accordingly, the three parties will coordinate to implement activities to promote Singapore as an ideal destination for both leisure and business travel from Vietnam; introduce Sentosa as the top choice for Vietnamese tourists and affirm Vietnam Airlines' position as the preferred airline for routes to Singapore.
Assessing Vietnam as one of the key markets and still having a lot of potential for development in the future, Mr. Terrence Voon, Managing Director of Southeast Asia, Singapore Tourism Board, said that this cooperation will enhance Singapore's appeal and create new motivations for sophisticated Vietnamese tourists to choose both Singapore and Sentosa as destinations when flying with Vietnam Airlines.
According to Mr. Dang Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, Singapore has always been one of Vietnam Airlines' key markets in Southeast Asia. More than 30 years since operating the first flight route between the two countries, the airline has served more than 8.1 million passengers on this route.
Currently, Vietnam Airlines operates 21 flights per week connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Singapore. In 2024 alone, the airline transported more than 400,000 passengers on these routes. In the first four months of 2025, this figure reached 116,000.
With a wide flight network, a loyal customer base, the marketing capabilities of the Singapore Tourism Board and unique products from the Sentosa Group, Mr. Tuan believes that he will deploy effective campaigns that are in line with modern tourism trends, with the goal of not only increasing the number of visitors but also contributing to promoting cultural exchange, connecting communities and developing sustainable tourism between the two countries.

With more than 110,000 visitors recorded choosing to visit Sentosa during their Singapore trip in 2024, Ms. Jacqueline Low, Director of Sales, Business and Channel Development of Sentosa Group, said that through the strategic partnership with Vietnam Airlines and the Singapore Tourism Board, more Vietnamese tourists will be welcomed to experience the unique beauty of Sentosa.
According to statistics from the Singapore Tourism Board, in 2024, Singapore welcomed 16.5 million international visitors, including more than 393,000 from Vietnam. Tourism revenue reached SGD 29.8 billion, reflecting the growing demand for creative and diverse tourism products and services. Vietnam continues to be among Singapore's 15 largest visitor source markets, showing strong room for growth in the high-quality visitor segment./.
