Vietnam creates favorable conditions for modern technology enterprises with economic potential to invest in developing digital infrastructure and digital human resources.

On the occasion of his visit to Beijing (China) to attend the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, on the afternoon of October 19, during a meeting with Huawei Chairman Liang Hua, President Vo Van Thuong emphasized that the process of digital transformation and digital economic development in the world is developing very rapidly. Vietnam attaches importance to these contents and focuses on digital transformation, building a digital economy and digital society. Vietnam calls for cooperation from all parties, from the Government to the private sector, in the process of building digital infrastructure and digital institutions.

President Vo Van Thuong said that on the positive development of Vietnam-China relations, Vietnam welcomes and hopes that more and more enterprises with economic potential and high development level will cooperate and invest in Vietnam.

The President highly appreciated the results that Huawei has achieved in the investment process in Vietnam and hoped that Huawei will continue to cooperate more actively with Vietnamese agencies to cooperate in building digital infrastructure, developing 5G, broadband and especially coordinating to train digital human resources.

At the meeting, Huawei Chairman Liang Hua said that the Group wishes to contribute more to the development of Vietnam's digital economy, digital society and energy transition, helping Vietnam integrate advances in science and technology into the development of agriculture and manufacturing industry. The Group is cooperating with a number of universities to train talents and Huawei is ready to cooperate with Vietnam in training digital human resources.

On the same afternoon, President Vo Van Thuong received Mr. Ly Tu Hoc - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Trung Hung Group (ZTE).

The President highly appreciated ZTE's business achievements and the results of ZTE's production and business cooperation in Vietnam. ZTE is currently a major customer and partner of many Vietnamese telecommunications companies.

Emphasizing that Vietnam attaches great importance to digital transformation and digital economic development, the President reiterated the call for national-level cooperation between governments and enterprises in building digital institutions, digital infrastructure and digital human resources. In that spirit, Vietnam hopes that Chinese enterprises, especially large enterprises with high and modern scientific and technological level, will invest and expand their investment in Vietnam, bringing modern and effective technology to Vietnam.

The President highly appreciated Chinese investors who have implemented more than four thousand valid projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital of more than 26 billion USD. Notably, in the first 9 months of 2023, for the first time, China became the second largest investor in Vietnam with a total registered capital of 2.9 billion USD. Among these, ZTE has been present in Vietnam for many years, closely cooperating with corporations and enterprises in Vietnam with many unique advantages, especially in areas such as: building digital infrastructure, 5G technology, storage, and data transmission.

The President believes that ZTE will have closer and more effective cooperation with businesses in Vietnam in the future; contributing to the overall development of the Vietnam - China cooperative relationship.

The President stated that the State and Government of Vietnam always attach importance to improving the investment and business environment, thereby creating more favorable conditions for businesses and investors to come to the Vietnamese market.

ZTE Corporation Chairman Li Zixue expressed his honor and pleasure to meet President Vo Van Thuong in Beijing; thanked Vietnamese authorities for supporting ZTE in its investment, production and business activities in Vietnam over the past years.

Appreciating Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements, Mr. Ly Tu Hoc said that ZTE was established in 1985 and is currently listed on the Hong Kong and Shenzhen stock exchanges. ZTE is currently a large enterprise providing 5G equipment in China. In addition, ZTE also builds and deploys a 5G technology application model. ZTE has a lot of experience in network development, system structure, and application software design; wishes to contribute to the construction of digital infrastructure in Vietnam; thereby strongly supporting the economic development process in Vietnam.

* On the occasion of attending the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing, China, President Vo Van Thuong received President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Jin Liqun.

At the reception, the President highly appreciated AIIB for continuously expanding its operations, achieving many important achievements and increasingly enhancing its role as a multilateral development bank, joining hands with organizations such as the WB, ADB... to provide capital to meet the needs of infrastructure development in the Asian region, especially for developing countries.

In the coming time, the President suggested that AIIB coordinate to support members with great demand for capital and technology; continue to promote infrastructure development in Asia, prioritizing the greening process and improving the capacity to respond to climate change. The President affirmed that the Vietnam-AIIB cooperation relationship is increasingly developing. As one of the founding members of AIIB, participating right from the negotiation stage to build the Bank's Charter, Vietnam has always made active and responsible contributions to the development and shaping of the Bank's role in the region and internationally. The President suggested that AIIB implement more effective cooperation activities in the coming time.

AIIB President Jin Liqun highly appreciated Vietnam's active contributions to the establishment of AIIB as well as AIIB's activities in recent times; affirmed that Vietnam has great potential for sustainable development, and committed that AIIB will increase support for the public and private sectors in Vietnam in accessing AIIB's capital sources, especially in the fields of climate change response and renewable energy.
