The Prime Minister suggested that the two countries continue to promote and bring the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership to a new height; effectively implement bilateral cooperation mechanisms, especially the mechanism of joint Cabinet meetings chaired by the two Prime Ministers.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated Thailand’s continued status as Vietnam’s largest trade partner in ASEAN and the ninth largest foreign investor in Vietnam; suggested that the two sides coordinate and strive to soon bring bilateral trade turnover to the target of 25 billion USD in a more balanced direction; limit trade barriers and further facilitate import and export of goods between the two countries...

Prime Minister receives Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand
On the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis. The Prime Minister affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always attaches importance to and wishes to strengthen relations with Lithuania, a traditional friendly partner in the Central and Eastern European region. The Prime Minister thanked Lithuania for actively supporting the signing of the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and being one of the first EU member states to ratify the Vietnam - EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked Lithuania to urge the remaining EU member states to soon ratify the EVIPA Agreement as well as contribute its voice in recognizing Vietnam's efforts in fully and seriously implementing the European Commission's (EC) recommendations on sustainable fisheries development and urging the EC to soon remove the "yellow card" on Vietnamese seafood products.
Also on October 25, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received US State Department Chief Economist Emily Blanchard. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that in the coming time, the two sides continue to implement specific measures to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership to develop more practically and effectively. In particular, the Prime Minister highly appreciated the US government's initiation of consideration to recognize Vietnam's market economy status, and proposed to soon complete this process. The Prime Minister also suggested that the US continue to open its market to Vietnamese goods such as textiles, footwear, electronics, etc.; limit anti-dumping and anti-subsidy tax measures, especially on agricultural products and wooden furniture - items that directly affect people's jobs and livelihoods.
