On July 16, Viet Duc Hospital shared the case of a male patient who donated organs after an unexpected accident, saving many other patients.

"The story we shared today is the day his eldest son got his high school graduation exam results, with 32 points in 4 subjects, like a priceless gift he sent to his beloved father," said a representative of Viet Duc Hospital.

Accordingly, the organ donor was a 43-year-old male patient who passed away due to an unexpected accident. In a moment of extreme pain, his wife, his partner of more than 20 years, made a courageous decision: to donate her husband's organs to save patients at the last boundary of life.

His family is poor. He is the main breadwinner, doing all kinds of jobs from construction worker, construction worker to seasonal worker, as long as he can support his wife and three children's education.

The pain was doubled when the day he left was also the day his eldest son was preparing to take his high school graduation exam. I did not have time to see my father for the last time, but perhaps the strength and love he left behind will always be with me on the journey ahead.

She said through tears: “I just hope your passing is not the end, but a new beginning for others. If you were still alive, you would be happy about that too.”

On June 25, doctors bowed their heads in memory of the man and performed organ removal, saving the lives of four other patients.

"The loss is immeasurable, but the noble gesture of his family has brought light to many strangers. Previously, 4 patients with end-stage organ failure, with fragile lives hanging on each day, are now in stable health after organ transplants.

The donated tissues have also been preserved at the Tissue Bank, ready to continue providing recovery opportunities for other patients in the future," said a representative of Viet Duc Hospital.
