From July 1, 2025 to present, Nhon Hoa Lap commune has given more than 900 gifts to poor households, near-poor households, and lonely elderly people.

Stories of rising above ordinary life

Promoting the spirit of “The rich help the poor”, Nhon Hoa Lap commune has implemented many creative and practical models in the peak month “For the poor” associated with year-end social security work. From mobilized resources, the locality focuses on supporting the construction and repair of houses, giving gifts, creating livelihoods and supporting loans, helping people have more conditions to escape poverty and stabilize their lives.

The family of Mr. Thai Van Gioi (residing in Cay Sao hamlet) - a member of the Commune Veterans Association, is one of the typical households overcoming difficulties. Previously, he and his wife worked for hire and saved up to build a small house. Thanks to the capital of 3 million VND from the Association's revolving fund, he invested in making a stove, a small job but it helped him earn more income. In his old age, he is still diligent, frugal, and promotes the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in everyday life. He confided: "I'm old, I do whatever I can, as long as it is useful for my family. I'm very happy to have the Association and the government's attention! Now that I have "a little income" like this, I'm happy."

Also on Nhon Hoa Lap land, Ms. Le Thi Ut (residing in Bang Lang hamlet) did not surrender to fate. Once a poor household, having to stay at a relative's house, but thanks to the support of the Commune Women's Union and preferential loans, she invested in growing jackfruit, a tree suitable to local soil conditions and the family's ability. Thanks to hard work, the jackfruit garden grew well, bringing in a stable income.

At the end of 2024, her family officially escaped poverty, marking a turning point thanks to her own efforts and the persistent support of the local government. Ms. Ut emotionally said: “Without the initial support capital, I would not have had the conditions to develop the economy . Every time I encountered difficulties, the government and the Commune Women's Union came to visit, encourage, and help me have more determination to rise up.”

Another example of the commune is the family of Mrs. Phan Thi Chuc (living in Kinh Nha Tho hamlet). For more than 10 years, her family has been poor. With capital support, she invested in breeding pigs, then expanded the scale. Now, her family has built a herd of more than 50 pigs for meat and 3 pigs for breeding. Thanks to stable breeding, her family's life has gradually become better than before. Mrs. Chuc shared: "Now with barns, capital, and a job, I can take care of my family. I thank the government and the Farmers' Association very much!"

Secretary of the Nhon Hoa Lap Commune Party Committee Le Van Nhan shared: “The peak month “For the poor” is an opportunity for us to review the results of sustainable poverty reduction, mobilizing the entire political system to join in. We pay special attention to understanding each situation to provide timely and appropriate support, avoiding formalities”.

According to Mr. Le Van Nhan, social security work in Nhon Hoa Lap commune does not stop at the peak month but has become a regular task. From the beginning of 2025 until now, the commune has mobilized to build and repair 15 Great Unity houses and charity houses. Particularly from July 1, 2025 until now, the commune has given more than 900 gifts to poor households, near-poor households, and lonely elderly people with a total value of more than 450 million VND.

The commune also helped 137 households access loans and 22 households received support from the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction to raise livestock, grow crops, and create stable jobs. The Party Committee continued to direct the government, the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations of the commune to review each poor and near-poor household to have appropriate support measures.

The Peak Month activities “For the Poor” in Tan Tay commune also took place in a lively and warm atmosphere. The gifts and new houses handed over to the poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households brought joy and hope.

Mrs. Tran Thi Chot's family (residing in Ca Rang hamlet) has been near-poor for many years. After her husband passed away, she lived with her son in a small house without land, and her main income came from seasonal work. At the age of over 60, she can no longer do heavy work. On days when she is well, she casts a net to catch fish to improve her family's meals. Knowing her family's situation, the government and socio-political organizations regularly visit and encourage her, helping her to have more strength to overcome difficulties.

The situation of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy (residing in Ben Ke hamlet, Tan Tay commune) is also a story full of determination. After the divorce, she raised two children alone. Having no land to produce, living in a makeshift house, she worked as a worker at Loi Binh Nhon Industrial Park (Khanh Hau ward) every day to earn an income to cover her living expenses. Understanding her difficult situation, the local government mobilized benefactors to support her family by building a house, helping her work with peace of mind and stabilize her life.

Vice Chairwoman of Tan Tay Commune People's Committee Pham Thi My Phung said: "From the specific actions at the grassroots level, it can be seen that the emulation movement "For the poor - leaving no one behind" has spread deeply and widely in the community. Each gift given not only helps people overcome difficulties but also shares and unites the village and neighborhood, contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the leadership of the Party and local government."

Spread the spirit of sharing

Localities actively implement the "For the Poor" Peak Month and year-end social security work

Responding to the peak month "For the poor" and year-end social security work, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province has issued a plan to synchronously deploy many activities, mobilizing the cooperation of all levels, sectors, localities, businesses and people.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chief of Office of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Tien Tan said: “The peak month “For the poor” in 2025 was launched with the goal of strongly promoting the spirit of solidarity, “mutual love and mutual assistance”, arousing the responsibility of the whole society in caring for and supporting the poor, near-poor, and people in difficult circumstances. This is not only an activity to mobilize material resources but also a symbol of compassion, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc”.

During this peak month, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and socio-political organizations focused on propagating and mobilizing support for the "For the Poor" Fund, and at the same time, organized many practical activities such as replicating models of self-help to escape poverty sustainably; supporting the construction and repair of Great Solidarity houses; providing livelihoods; giving gifts, medical examination and treatment to poor households, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances, helping them gradually stabilize their lives and escape poverty sustainably.

In addition, in the last months of 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province will continue to coordinate with socio-political organizations and local authorities to organize the program "Tet for the poor - Spring Binh Ngo 2026", giving Tet gifts, supporting gifts and necessities to help people have conditions to celebrate Tet together and warmly. In addition, the Front will also focus on supervision work, ensuring that support resources are allocated publicly, transparently and to the right subjects.

Each meaningful gift given, each house built, each livelihood supported not only helps people overcome immediate difficulties but also ignites faith and arouses the will to rise up in the lives of the less fortunate. With the participation and cooperation of the entire political system, the work of caring for the poor in the province is increasingly going into depth, leaving a beautiful mark in the hearts of the people - a journey of charity that continues unceasingly./.
