After the traffic accident in Thanh Binh village (Binh Giao commune, Chu Prong district, Gia Lai province) caused 20 students and 1 driver to be hospitalized, Gia Lai Department of Health requested leaders of units to urgently arrange human resources, ensure adequate medicine, medical equipment... to provide emergency and treatment for the victims; absolutely do not refuse or delay emergency and treatment.
Director of Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health Le Minh Thai requested units to closely monitor the patient's health status. If the patient's health condition exceeds the treatment capacity, they must notify the higher level before transferring to ensure reception and treatment.
During the process of rescuing traffic accident victims, units quickly compiled a list of hospitalized patients, updated their health status and reported to the Department.
Of the 21 victims of the car crash, 15 were treated at Hung Vuong Gia Lai Hospital; 3 were treated at Hoang Anh Gia Lai University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital; and the remaining 3 are being monitored at Gia Lai Provincial General Hospital.
By early afternoon of April 22, the victims' health had basically stabilized.
At Hung Vuong Gia Lai Hospital, through initial examination, doctors determined that there were 5-6 cases of head injuries, and some others had injuries to the arms, legs, and skin.
The driver suffered a chest injury and one student suffered a cervical spine injury. The victims’ health is stable, under control, and there are no unusual symptoms.
The hospital promptly administered medication, conducted a detailed examination of the injury, and continued to monitor the patient for timely treatment.
Among the 21 victims, there was one case with a very complicated injury to the right arm, admitted to the emergency room at Hoang Anh Gia Lai University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital with injuries such as crushed wrist; complex fractures of the wrist-hand bones; fractures-dislocations of the wrist-carpal and metacarpal-finger joints.
After 5 hours of surgery, the medical team successfully performed surgery on the victim's arm, successfully regenerating and reconnecting parts of the arm and fingers.
According to initial assessment, doctors have basically restored the arm to normal by surgery. Currently, the victim's health is stable and responding well to the hospital's treatment methods.

Immediately after the accident, Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que directly went to 3 hospitals to inspect and direct the treatment of the victims; at the same time, requested the hospitals to focus resources and material resources to treat the seriously injured so that they can overcome the critical stage soon.
The Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee encouraged the students' families to let doctors focus on treatment and recovery so that the students can return home soon and continue studying.
Previously, VNA reporters reported that at around 6:30 a.m. on April 22, a student transport vehicle with license plate 81F-001.18 driven by Mr. Phan Dinh Du (55 years old, permanent resident of Hamlet 4, Thang Hung Commune, Chu Prong) was traveling on National Highway 19 (in the direction from Duc Co District to Chu Prong District, Gia Lai Province) when it reached Thanh Binh Village (Binh Giao Commune, Chu Prong District) and suddenly had an accident, plunging into a negative slope (about 10m deep) and flipping over.
At the time of the accident, the bus was carrying 20 students from Nguyen Dinh Chieu Middle School and Tran Phu High School (Thang Hung Commune, Chu Prong District) to school.
The accident left 3 students with head injuries, 2 with arm injuries, and many with minor injuries./.
