One lecturer at Dong Thap University received a reward of 500 million VND upon achieving the professorship standard, while another lecturer received 250 million VND upon achieving the associate professorship standard.

In 2025, Dong Thap University will have two lecturers who meet the standards for the titles of professor and associate professor. Specifically, lecturer Huynh Vinh Phuc (Physics) will meet the standards for professor; and lecturer Le Diem Kieu (Agriculture) will meet the standards for associate professor.

According to the policy implemented by the university since 2023, staff members appointed to the positions of professor or associate professor will receive financial support in the form of a lump sum.

Specifically, the maximum support amount for officials appointed to the title of professor is 500 million VND/person, with a total support amount not exceeding 1 billion VND/year; the maximum support amount for officials appointed to the title of associate professor is 250 million VND/person, with a total support amount not exceeding 1 billion VND/year. These support amounts include travel expenses for two thesis defenses, one trip to receive the academic title certificate, applicable fees, and other related costs (if any).

The specific amount of support will be considered by the Council, based on the university's budget capacity, the urgency of the situation, and the level of contribution to opening new academic programs and increasing training quotas. Officials receiving support must commit to serving Dong Thap University for a minimum of 10 years (120 months) from the date of the recognition decision; in exceptional cases, a shorter commitment period will be decided by the Council.

In addition to policies supporting staff in upgrading their qualifications, Dong Thap University also implements a talent attraction policy. Accordingly, those with a doctoral degree who join the university receive an incentive of 250 million VND per person and are considered for free official housing. For newly recruited staff with a doctoral degree and associate professor rank, the incentive is 300 million VND per person; for professors, it is 350 million VND per person.
