Five people, including the suspect, were killed and three others were injured in a shooting at a poolside birthday party in a residential area in the US state of Kentucky early on July 6 (local time).

According to the local police department, three injured people were taken to a nearby hospital and are currently in critical condition.
Police arrived at the scene at just before 3am (0700 GMT) and as they approached they could still hear gunshots.
The suspect, described as a man, fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived, leading police on a chase.
The suspect's car then crashed into a ditch and the suspect shot himself. Partygoers recognized the suspect and reported his identity to the police.
The Kentucky shooting adds to a list of more than 100 mass shootings reported in the United States this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
A mass shooting is defined as a shooting in which at least four people are shot, not including the shooter.
