Cao Bang erases 19,067 temporary and dilapidated houses

On October 27, Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee summarized the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the period of 2021-2025. The province has supported the construction and repair of 19,067 houses for poor, near-poor households and policy families. The total implementation cost reached more than 955 billion VND, meeting 100% of the people's needs.

The report at the conference said that the province has supported the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for 19,067 poor households, near-poor households and policy families in the period of 2021-2025. The total budget for implementing the program reached over 955 billion VND. The results achieved fulfilled 100% of the people's needs. Specifically, the province has built 13,719 new houses, repaired 5,322 houses and 26 prefabricated houses.

The whole province mobilized more social resources to support the construction and repair of 401 houses. This capital reached nearly 18 billion VND. In addition, the mobilized resources also included over 201,100 working days, 67 tons of cement, 120,600 bricks and 1,070 fiber cement panels. The resources came from organizations, individuals, businesses and people throughout the province.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Comrade Vu Hong Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Steering Committee, affirmed that the program has profound humanitarian significance. The program clearly demonstrates political determination to care for the lives of the poor. Comrade Vu Hong Quang pointed out that the results achieved are clear evidence of the strong leadership spirit and consensus of the whole society.

Comrade Nong Thi Ha, Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, praised the outstanding results that Cao Bang province achieved in the program. The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the proactive and creative role of Cao Bang province - one of the leading localities. Comrade Nong Thi Ha commented that completing the goal of eliminating temporary housing is only the first step. The more important thing is that the province must continue to improve the quality of life of the people.

The Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions requested the province to continue maintaining the results. The province needs to regularly review and promptly support households facing difficulties, ensuring that all people have stable housing.

Comrade Be Thanh Tinh said that the program contributed to fostering people's trust in the Party and State. At the same time, the program also strengthened the great national unity bloc.

Comrade Be Thanh Tinh suggested that in the coming time, all levels and sectors should continue to promote propaganda and raise awareness about the significance of the program. Units need to regularly review and update the housing situation to promptly support arising cases. The implementation motto is "wherever it arises, it must be resolved". He also requested attention to synchronously implementing policies to support livelihoods and create jobs. This is to guide people to develop household economy, increase income to escape poverty sustainably.
