From the base survey trips
In July and August 2025, the tourism industry and the business community conducted surveys in 8 communes, including 5 communes A Luoi 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and Long Quang, Khe Tre, Nam Dong communes. These are mountainous communes with many tourism resources, especially natural landscapes and unique cultural identities of ethnic minorities. Eco-tourism and community tourism models have both opened up directions for socio -economic development and created jobs for local workers.
Typically, in the communes of A Luoi district in the past, now A Luoi 1 - 5 communes, taking advantage of investment resources, improving infrastructure, accommodation areas and community houses creates opportunities for tourism development. In the area of A Luoi communes, there are currently 24 tourist attractions and 33 accommodation facilities (9 motels, 24 homestays), with a maximum capacity of nearly 1,000 guests/time... The ecological sites of Par Le, A Nor, A Lin and community tourism villages in the localities... are increasingly receiving the attention of many tourists. Or in Long Quang, Khe Tre and Nam Dong communes, many typical destinations such as: YesHue Eco eco-tourism area, Hai Nhat spillway, agricultural gardens of households in Nam Dong commune with many kinds of specialty fruits such as oranges, guavas...; Homestay models such as: An Hanh Home, Aly Homestay & Coffee and especially the Co Tu Ethnic Cultural Village in Doi Village - where many traditional cultural values of the Co Tu community are still preserved, have become "meeting places" that tourists want to set foot in to explore .
However, despite some initial results in developing ecotourism and community tourism, tourism activities in localities still face difficulties that need to be resolved for sustainable development. Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of A Luoi 1 Commune - Mr. Le Hoang Vu Hai Quang worried: Investment resources are still limited, many tourism models are spontaneous and lack uniqueness. Although there are many resources, the locality still lacks ideas to form unique and attractive tourism products.
The representative of Khe Tre Commune People's Committee said that tourism products are still monotonous, lacking connections, there are no specific tours or routes, and promotion is not effective. In particular, cultural activities at night and unique experiences have not yet received proper attention and development. The locality always hopes that travel agencies and tourism businesses will coordinate to build tours and routes to attract tourists, thereby developing more unique tourism products, suitable to the potential of each area.

Build products on existing “materials”
In the fierce competition to attract tourists among destinations, tourism products are the main factor that creates the difference and competitiveness of the destination. Hue City determines not only to develop heritage tourism, pay attention to developing tourism in the core area but also invest in developing other types of complementary tourism, especially linking resources and cultural identity to develop eco-tourism and community tourism in localities.
Mr. Tran Quang Hao, Director of Hue Tourism Investment and Services Joint Stock Company (Huetourist), shared that the outstanding tourism resource values of localities are important content, contributing to brand positioning and attracting tourists. What tourists need are the local characteristics. Tourism development must be associated with conservation and the construction of tourism products based on the most familiar and authentic experiences.
In Long Quang, Khe Tre and Nam Dong communes, some travel agencies believe that, in addition to creating products such as homestays, farmstays, agricultural and medicinal tourism, it is necessary to organize more cultural and ecological experience activities, folk art performances, fairs, bicycle tours, or the program "A day as a Co Tu person"..., to extend the length of stay of tourists.
Or in A Luoi communes, it is necessary to develop a plan to organize festivals and cultural events periodically to attract tourists. In particular, it is necessary to effectively use the Traditional Cultural Village of Ethnic Groups in A Luoi 3 commune as a key destination in tours and routes. At the same time, there is a policy to support the maintenance of folk cultural and artistic performances to create a unique attraction. Each commune needs to research and develop 1-2 unique tourism products with their own identity, paying special attention to developing night products such as cuisine and cultural performances.
Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy Van, Director of 4LLIN Company Limited, Hue branch, said that the cooperation of enterprises with local authorities in developing indigenous culture not only preserves traditional values but also creates momentum for socio-economic development.
According to Director of the Department of Tourism Tran Thi Hoai Tram, the tourism industry has been looking for solutions, implementing product development, and developing tourism in localities. The tourism industry has determined to invest in infrastructure, improve service quality, train human resources, and at the same time strengthen regional links between the community - government - businesses. The Department of Tourism will support localities in training, promoting destination images, supporting the digitalization of highland culinary products, building tours and connecting routes with travel companies; on the other hand, calling on investors to pay attention to developing potential destinations to create in-depth products, attracting tourists in the long term.
