Mr. Bau's garden area suffered heavy landslides.

The entire garden and part of the ground around Mr. Bau's house were eroded and swept away into the river, directly threatening the lives and property of people in the area.

This area is located right downstream and directly facing the floodgates of Ta Trach Lake, so every time it rains heavily, water from the lake flows down very strongly, causing serious erosion. In recent days, due to the effects of prolonged heavy rain, the river water level has risen rapidly, the strong current has weakened the ground around the residential area and caused landslides.

According to the leader of Phu Bai ward, the river water is currently rising and continues to rise rapidly , making it impossible for the authorities to access the scene to measure and specifically calculate the depth and length of the landslide. However, initial records show that the affected area is quite large, with many landslides going deep into the mainland, directly threatening 3 households living close to the riverbank.

Faced with the dangerous situation, three households, including Mr. Che Quang Bau’s family and two neighboring households, were urgently evacuated to a safe place. The Phu Bai ward authorities mobilized militia, police and organizations to assist in evacuating people, and at the same time arranged temporary accommodation, food and essential necessities for the affected households.

To prevent the situation of landslides from becoming more complicated, Phu Bai ward has deployed inspections, surveys and made a list of 55 households with 178 people in Thanh Van, Buong Tam and Thon Ha villages (old Duong Hoa commune) to evacuate to safe places, in order to proactively respond to prolonged rain and floods.

Notably, this landslide area was previously proposed by Duong Hoa commune (old) to the old Huong Thuy town to consider relocating and resettling households living along the riverbank. However, due to many objective reasons, this has not been implemented yet. Now, in the face of climate change, complicated rain and flood situations, and increasingly serious landslide risks, Phu Bai ward is urgently developing a plan to arrange long-term resettlement for households in dangerous areas; at the same time, expanding surveys of high-risk riverside areas to promptly come up with response solutions.

Local authorities call on people to be vigilant, proactively monitor flood information, and not return to landslide areas without permission to ensure the safety of life and property.
