Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes in two versions: 12GB RAM, 256GB ROM: 6,499 CNY (about 22.2 million VND) and 16GB RAM, 1TB ROM (titanium frame): 8,799 CNY (about 30 million VND). For comparison, the regular iPhone 15 retails for 5,999 CNY and the iPhone 15 Pro for 7,999 CNY.

The phone model has a 5,300 mAh battery that supports 90W fast charging, runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip from Qualcomm, and has HyperOS pre-installed based on Andorid 14.

The company said it has started taking pre-orders and the product will officially hit shelves on February 27 - also the time of the annual MWC event, held in Barcelona (Spain).

Xiaomi's move comes after Huawei made a surprise return to the high-end mobile phone market segment with the Mate 60 Pro 5G model late last year. Previously, in 2022, Xiaomi also quickly signed a contract with Leica to improve the camera and photography features on its products after the German lens company ended its 7-year contract with Huawei.

Xiaomi President Lu Weibing describes the Xiaomi 14 Ultra as “the latest flagship photography mobile phone”, with the main camera equipped with a large sensor (1-inch) and variable aperture.

Also in this product launch are the 6s Pro 12.4 tablet, Redmi Book Pro laptop and Redmi G Pro 27 screen.

Xiaomi aims to become the world's largest smartphone maker by 2024. But the company has remained third globally in terms of sales for the past 14 quarters, behind Apple and Samsung.

According to data from IDC, total smartphone sales in China in 2023 fell 5% compared to the previous year, to 271 million units - the lowest level in a decade despite emerging signs of recovery.

Also last week, Xiaomi's leadership revealed on social media that the company's smart factory in Beijing has been completed and is capable of producing 10 million phones per year.
