Successfully disposed of a bomb weighing nearly 200kg in a ditch

On May 13, the Military Command of Duc Hue District, Long An Province, announced that it had coordinated with functional units to safely handle a bomb in Hamlet 1, Binh Hoa Nam Commune. Accordingly, while digging a ditch on his land, Mr. Ho Van Dang discovered a bomb under a layer of mud, so he reported it to the Military Command.

The Military Command of Binh Hoa Nam commune reported the incident to the Military Command of Duc Hue district to deploy measures to safely handle the bomb. The engineering team sealed off the scene and evacuated people to a safe place before removing the bomb.

Upon inspection, the bomb was found to be an MK82, weighing approximately 200kg, left over from the war. This type of bomb has the potential to cause great damage and poses a very high risk of exploding if not handled properly.

The engineering team neutralized, dismantled and destroyed the bomb according to the correct procedure, ensuring absolute safety for people and the surrounding area. The handling process took place quickly, without any unfortunate incidents.
