Trade promotion on digital platform

Phuc Loc Tho chili sauce products are strongly promoted by Spicy Country Company Limited ( Thanh Hoa City) on digital platforms.

It is undeniable that the potential of digital commerce for Thanh Hoa is huge. Key agricultural products such as sugarcane, cassava, vegetables, processed seafood or fine art wooden products, which already have brands in the domestic market, if strongly promoted on the digital platform, will open a new "door" to penetrate deeper into demanding markets such as the EU, Japan, and the United States. In fact, through e-commerce activities, many OCOP products and typical key products of the province have had the opportunity to boost exports to foreign markets such as shrimp paste, Le Gia shrimp paste; pineapple, sweet corn, canned baby cucumbers of Truong Tung and products from sliced pineapples, canned baby cucumbers of Tu Thanh Company Limited; processed products from pennywort of Phong Cach Moi Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company; lychee of Ho Guom - Song Am CNC Agriculture Company Limited... These initial successes not only affirm the great potential of digital commerce but also motivate many businesses and cooperatives in the province to be more bold in investing and effectively exploiting digital platforms to conquer potential export markets.

In order to remove "bottlenecks" and further promote digital trade promotion activities, Thanh Hoa has issued many practical support programs. In particular, the province's Digital Transformation Support Program for Enterprises in the 2021-2025 period sets a target that by the end of 2025, at least 50% of enterprises in the area will have a digital presence, of which at least 20% will participate in transactions on domestic and foreign e-commerce platforms. In 2024 alone, the province has allocated a budget of more than 20 billion VND for digital skills training, building digital booths and promoting local products on digital platforms. In addition, Thanh Hoa has actively coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and technology partners to organize seminars and in-depth discussions on cross-border e-commerce, helping local enterprises update trends and seize market opportunities.

Along with that, the province is also focusing on investing in technology infrastructure to create a solid foundation for digital trade promotion. According to the Department of Science and Technology of Thanh Hoa, the fixed broadband internet coverage rate is currently 95% in the province, of which 100% of industrial parks and 85% of rural areas have stable network infrastructure. Expanding digital infrastructure helps businesses in both urban and rural areas easily access modern trade promotion tools, eliminating geographical gaps and reducing customer access costs.

However, to further enhance the capacity to promote digital trade, Thanh Hoa is further promoting the connection of the business support ecosystem including consultants, technology platforms and logistics units, thereby forming a closed value chain for e-commerce. In addition, supporting businesses to build digital brands, standardize products according to international standards and develop secure electronic payment solutions are also key factors to increase the presence of Thanh Hoa products in the global market. Experience from leading provinces and cities such as Bac Giang or Son La shows that synchronizing business support solutions from training, connecting e-commerce platforms to transportation logistics and export procedures will help significantly increase agricultural export turnover through online channels. Typically, in 2023, Bac Giang exported more than 300,000 tons of lychee through the e-commerce platforms Alibaba and JD.com, bringing in a turnover value of nearly 200 million USD, opening up a promising direction that Thanh Hoa can completely learn and replicate.

In the near future, with the high determination and support of all levels of government and the self-efforts of the business community, Thanh Hoa has every reason to expect that trade promotion on digital platforms will become an important "lever", helping local goods reach out to the world more strongly.
