Connect and consume products

The activity of connecting the consumption of agricultural products, specialties, and handicrafts in Quang Dien commune was recently organized by the Center for Trade Investment Promotion and Enterprise Support of the city (Center) in coordination with Quang Dien commune last August. This activity has created a new perspective in trade promotion activities.

Previously, trade promotion activities were often organized in urban areas, but now these activities have shifted to communes and wards. This is an opportunity for communes and wards to introduce local potentials and advantages through key products and OCOP. This activity will attract representatives from supermarkets and large distributors to participate, experience, and try products; trade directly with enterprises, cooperatives, and business households. At the same time, through trade connections, distributors will shape the actual consumption demand for local products and guide enterprises to complete the necessary documents and procedures to bring products into the distribution system and supermarkets. This opens up market opportunities in the context of increasingly difficult output for agricultural and rural products.

The above mentioned trade promotion activities were evaluated as very effective. In addition to 8 pairs of memorandums of understanding between local enterprises and distributors signed, the products participating in trade promotion were well received by local people and were in a state of "out of stock".

According to Mr. Nguyen Le Minh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Center, organizing trade promotion activities in communes and wards brings a new perspective, when distributors can directly approach local producers and consumers. Because communes and wards are where many agricultural production households, small-scale industries, and traditional craft villages are concentrated. Organizing trade promotion right at the local level helps people, cooperatives, and small and medium-sized enterprises have the opportunity to directly introduce products. Local consumers also have access to local products, enhancing recognition and trust in indigenous products, creating conditions for small enterprises and business and production households to develop.

Through these activities, the role of local authorities in accompanying enterprises, cooperatives, and business households will also be enhanced in the spirit of Resolution 68 of the Politburo on private economic development; promoting the existing potential of localities in building brands of agricultural, rural, and craft village products associated with tourism and service development.

Promote and attract investment

At the above promotion conference, Mr. Ngo Minh Hieu, Director of Quang Phu Agricultural Processing Cooperative, affirmed that the market is the decisive factor for the success of the products. To do that, the Cooperative has made great efforts in standardizing products and investing in packaging quality. However, the market is still a difficult problem. Therefore, trade promotion activities from the government and departments, especially the Center, will play an important role in helping local products have more partners, thereby affirming their brands in the market.

In fact, trade promotion activities do not only stop at promoting and introducing products, creating favorable conditions for buying and selling goods and services, but also attract investment in rural and remote areas, aiming to develop the local economy . Thereby, spreading the image of Hue products associated with culture, craft villages and indigenous resources. Through this activity, the Center also grasps the criteria of distributors, the support needs of local enterprises, from which to propose and support to improve the competitiveness and ability to participate in the modern supply chain of enterprises and production facilities.

According to Mr. Nguyen Le Minh Tuan, as the focal point for trade promotion, the Center has implemented many activities such as: Hue Festival Trade Fair, participating in domestic exhibitions, organizing many trade connection conferences and supporting local enterprises to bring goods into large distribution systems such as: Aeon Mall Hue, Go Hue, Co.opmart Hue... In the coming time, the Center will also organize periodic trade promotion activities by topic, with the goal of supporting enterprises to promote products by each industry group. The programs will also be organized by topics such as: Displaying and introducing local agricultural products - specialties; handicraft products; OCOP products and typical rural industrial products... Along with that, the Center also accompanies enterprises to remove difficulties, support to improve enterprise capacity...

From 2024 to present, the Center has supported more than 120 businesses to participate in trade promotion activities inside and outside the city; supported businesses to sign more than 100 memorandums of understanding, of which nearly 50 contracts have been signed, contributing to promoting and spreading the image and brand of "made in Hue" products.
