After heavy rains caused by storm No. 1, Ky Anh town had 210 hectares of newly planted summer-autumn rice completely damaged. Immediately after the water receded, farmers in the localities focused on preparing the land, sowing new seeds, and taking good care to ensure the crop. Taking advantage of the sunny weather, these days farmers in wards and communes in Ky Anh town have been working hard to prune, weed, drain water, and apply the first round of fertilization. Ms. Vo Thi Phang (Hoa Tan village, Ky Hoa commune) said: " The recent rain completely damaged my 3 sao of PC6 seeds. Immediately after that, I promptly prepared the land to sow a new crop. I am focusing on pruning and trimming the 3 sao of direct sowing. This time, the weather has turned hot and sunny, so people often go to the fields from early morning or after 4 pm to late evening to avoid the scorching sun and work more productively ."
This summer-autumn crop, Mr. Nguyen Van Dong's family (Hung Nhan Residential Group, Hung Tri Ward) sowed nearly 5 sao of rice fields with the main varieties: Khang Dan, PC6, HN6... This second planting period had favorable weather so the rice grew well. Therefore, at this time, Mr. Dong started to thin out to ensure the rice density according to the recommendations of the industry.
Mr. Dong shared: "Although we have to sow again, it takes a lot of effort and costs, but if the weather is favorable, I believe that the final yield will not be affected much...".
In the summer-autumn crop of 2025, Ky Anh town will have a total area of nearly 320 hectares with key rice varieties such as: PC6, HN6, Khang Dan 18, PC6, Xuan Mai 12, ADI 168... To ensure a successful crop, in addition to pruning and fertilizing, farmers also focus on weeding the banks...
... regulate water into the rice fields.
This year's summer-autumn crop, the town faced the disadvantage of having to sow for the second time. However, farmers were able to re-sow in time, so many summer-autumn rice fields in the area are entering the development and tillering period. The town has directed localities to advise farmers to make the most of the water supply from the canal and ditch system; take water about 3-4cm deep, thin the rice, ensure the distribution density to help the plants tiller; monitor the growth process, and apply the first fertilization. In addition, pay attention to monitoring the fields, apply early pest control measures at the beginning of the season...
