After two serious landslides in the upstream canal of Trung Luong culvert (Hong Linh town), the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province approved a budget of 14 billion VND to overcome the consequences.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the People's Committee of Hong Linh town to organize the preparation of a report proposing investment policies for projects in the list of works to support overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and landslides in the past (supported according to Decision No. 1739/QD-TTg dated December 29, 2023 of the Prime Minister in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Public Investment and other relevant current legal provisions).

The Provincial People's Committee requests Hong Linh Town to be responsible for balancing and arranging local capital sources in case the project implementation cost exceeds the allocated capital.

Immediately after the landslide, the People's Committee of Hong Linh town urgently handled the landslide temporarily.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to preside over and coordinate with specialized agencies and relevant units to promptly organize appraisal and report to the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council to decide on investment policies for projects in accordance with current regulations.

Assign the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development and Transport, according to their assigned functions, tasks and state management fields, to guide localities in organizing implementation, focusing on appraising documents and procedures to speed up project implementation progress, and promptly disbursing capital in accordance with regulations.

Previously, as reported by Ha Tinh Electronic Newspaper, on the night of January 10, a serious landslide occurred on the banks of the Minh River, outside Trung Luong culvert in Hau Den Residential Area, Trung Luong Ward, Hong Linh Town. The landslide extended along the riverbed for about 70m, with a depth of about 6-7m, damaging a number of structures of the Ca Temple - Dinh Do Quan Hoang Muoi historical and cultural relic, with many trees and rocks swept away.

Immediately after the landslide occurred, the People's Committee of Hong Linh town urgently mobilized forces, using thousands of cubic meters of rubble and more than 1,000 stone cages to temporarily handle the landslide in the riverbank area outside Trung Luong sluice.
