At 4:30 p.m. today, the Vietnam Boxing Federation held an urgent meeting regarding the 'disappearance' of Mr. Liu Xiu Bao.

This afternoon (September 4), the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) held an online meeting to resolve the recent absence of Mr. Luu Tu Bao, President of VBF.

Is VBF an early term congress?

Following the direction from the Vietnam Sports Administration, the VBF Standing Committee decided to notify members of an urgent online meeting at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon. The meeting requested VBF President Luu Tu Bao to clearly report the reason for his absence from the end of February until now and at the same time discuss the plan to manage and implement VBF's work in the coming time.

VBF President Luu Tu Bao has not been running the Federation since the end of February due to work in the US.

The VBF Standing Committee informed Mr. Liu Xiu Bao about this urgent meeting, but it is not clear whether he will attend or not. According to the sharing of Vice President and General Secretary of VBF Nguyen Duy Hung in the most recent exchange 1 month ago, Mr. Liu Xiu Bao said that he was busy in the US, so he asked the VBF Standing Committee to manage the work at VBF.

The President of the Vietnam Boxing Federation was absent from the urgent online meeting on September 4.

As Thanh Nien reported, VBF President Luu Tu Bao has been in the US since the end of February 2025 and has not returned to Vietnam yet. The Vietnam Sports Administration has asked the VBF Executive Board to manage general work during Mr. Luu Tu Bao's absence. After the urgent meeting of the VBF Standing Committee, tomorrow, the VBF Executive Board will meet to resolve and assign work and tasks in the coming time. This includes taking on work during Mr. Luu Tu Bao's absence.

In case Mr. Liu Xiu Bao cannot run the work until the end of his term for any reason, most likely, VBF will have to report to the Ministry of Home Affairs to have an early term Congress to elect a new president.
