19 delegations participated in the Cultural and Sports Festival of Ethnic Groups in Dien Bien Phu City

The 9th Dien Bien Phu City Ethnic Culture and Sports Festival in 2023 took place from October 6 to 8 with the participation of 19 delegations, over 700 athletes and actors from 12 communes, wards and agencies, units and schools in the area. The festival includes activities such as: folk song, folk dance, traditional music of ethnic groups and solidarity dance; performance competition, introduction of ethnic costumes; display of booths introducing agricultural products, OCOP products, handicrafts, costumes, musical instruments, local production tools; culinary competition of 12 communes and wards; Mong ethnic rice cake pounding competition; ethnic sports competitions...

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Phu City People's Committee Dao Hoai Nam affirmed: "The Cultural and Sports Festival of Dien Bien Phu City's ethnic groups is held annually to continue promoting the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life and the Campaign for the whole people to exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho; contributing to building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity. This is also an opportunity for the people of all ethnic groups in the area to meet, exchange, introduce the traditional cultural values of each ethnic group, honor, preserve and promote the cultural identity of the ethnic groups. At the same time, it creates a useful and attractive playground for the people and tourists; promotes the potential for tourism development; educates the tradition of patriotism, consolidates and strengthens the great national unity bloc; links cultural, sports and tourism work with the implementation of socio-economic development goals, ensuring national defense and security in the area...".

Attending the opening ceremony of the 9th Dien Bien Phu City Ethnic Culture and Sports Festival in 2023, delegates, residents and tourists were immersed in a special art program, with the participation of artists, actors of the Provincial Art Troupe, the Dien Bien Phu City Cinema and Culture Center, agencies, units and art clubs in the area. The art program includes 3 chapters: Dien Bien invites; Convergence of colors; Dien Bien new day.

The 9th Dien Bien Phu City Ethnic Culture and Sports Festival, 2023 takes place for 3 days (October 6-8) at Him Lam Square, Him Lam Ward, Dien Bien Phu City with many unique and attractive cultural and sports activities.
