376 entries for the International Data for Life Competition

On the afternoon of October 12, at the headquarters of the National Population Data Center ( Ministry of Public Security ), the Department of Police for Administrative Management and Social Order (C06 - Ministry of Public Security) organized the application round of the international competition Data for Life 2024.

Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong, Director of Department C06, informed: This year is the first time that, in addition to the host country Vietnam, the contest has attracted many groups of authors from 4 other countries such as Australia, Korea, Singapore, and Indonesia to submit entries.

This has created a strong attraction, with the participation of teams from many countries in the Asia- Pacific region. The expansion of participants has brought about diversity in ideas, cultures and approaches to problems, creating an attractive and interesting competition for the contest, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong emphasized.

The total number of applications for the competition was 376. Based on the selection scale, the jury selected 46 teams with the highest results to enter the presentation round.

Among them are many highly innovative and breakthrough technological ideas such as: Facial recognition system, Automatic behavior control system of vehicle drivers, VR system to track virtual reality victory of 12 days and nights in Hanoi (Dien Bien Phu in the air)...

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Vinh, Director of the National Population Data Center, emphasized: This playground is not only for Vietnamese people and businesses, but we realize that the competition needs to reach out to the world.

In terms of organization, this year the competition invested a lot of effort. Every step from preparation to implementation was carefully carried out, from data preparation to technical and communication support. The data provided was more diverse and rich, helping teams to unleash their creativity and develop breakthrough solutions.

The leaders of Department C06, Ministry of Public Security believe that with the innovations, the competition will be an opportunity for teams to demonstrate their talent, creativity and ability to apply technology into practice.
