After more than 3 months of launching, the Vietnam AI Contest 2025 has just ended the submission phase, recording the enthusiastic participation of thousands of high school students across the country.

The influence of three themes that carry the breath of the times
Since its official launch, Vietnam AI Contest 2025 has attracted contestants from many provinces and cities across the country, in which Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City continue to lead in the number of entries and are highly appreciated for the quality of projects and diversity of fields.
In 2025, the Organizing Committee introduced three key themes: AIWS Angel, AIWS Ethics and AIWS Film Park - corresponding to three approaches: AI for people, ethical AI and AI for artistic creation. Of which, AIWS Angel accounted for 63% of the total number of entries, showing the great interest of contestants in AI applications serving life, education and healthcare.
The AIWS Film Park theme - focusing on creating short films, music and art using artificial intelligence - also achieved an impressive rate of 35%, reflecting the strong attraction of the digital creative field among young people. Although accounting for only 2%, the entries under the AIWS Ethics theme were highly appreciated by the Council for their depth of thinking and ability to approach ethical issues in technology - a new direction with sustainable value in the context of global discussions on responsible AI.
92% of projects come from teamwork
A highlight of the 2025 competition season was the spirit of teamwork. Of the total valid applications, 92% were completed in groups, only 8% were done individually. This shows that the young generation of Vietnam increasingly understands the value of interdisciplinary cooperation - when technology, art, media and society come together to create AI solutions with practical applications.
Many joint competition teams bring together members from different schools, even different fields. There is a group of natural science students working with social science students to develop “AI storytelling with emotional voices”, and there is a group combining software development students and art majors to create films using AI. These projects are not just competition products, but also evidence of the creative power that unites the Vietnamese Gen Z generation.
Notably, this year also saw the participation of international students studying in Vietnam - bringing global perspectives and open-mindedness. Their presence helps the Vietnam AI Contest to increasingly approach international standards on cultural diversity, promoting dialogue between educational systems.
When AI becomes the language of creativity
One of the encouraging signs is the increase in AI projects related to culture, music and art, especially in the AIWS Film Park theme. This year's entries show a young generation that knows how to use technology not to replace, but to inspire, tell stories and connect with human emotions.
From short films that incorporate AI in scene setting and effects, to music tracks that use AI to create melodies reminiscent of Vietnamese folk songs, or the model of "AI co-writing with humans" - all show that a new wave of creativity is forming.
The creative journey continues
The Vietnam AI Contest 2025 has closed its submission phase, but the contestants' creative journey continues. In the coming time, projects will be pre-selected, professionally reviewed and selected for the final round. The award announcement ceremony is expected to be held in Hanoi in January 2026.
In addition to the prize worth 50 million VND for First Prize, 30 million VND for Second Prize, 15 million VND for Third Prize and 5 million VND for Young Talent Prize, the excellent teams will have the opportunity to present their products directly to the International Advisory Board including experts from Harvard, Princeton, EY (Ernst & Young) and Northeastern University (USA) - a rare opportunity for young Vietnamese people to gain experience and learn.
In addition, outstanding projects are also communicated on VietNamNet, VLAB Innovation and Theanh28, expanding their influence and inspiring the community.
From intellectual playground to Vietnamese AI creative community
After 3 seasons, Vietnam AI Contest is not only a competition, but is gradually becoming a young AI creative ecosystem in Vietnam - where every contestant can find opportunities to learn, connect and develop.
From projects focusing on education, healthcare, and the environment to movies, music, and art, young Vietnamese people are proving that AI is not just technology - but a new language of creativity and humanity.
What is impressive is not the number of entries, but the spirit of young Vietnamese people: daring to think, daring to do and daring to let technology become a tool of beauty - the representative of the contest's Organizing Committee shared.
The Vietnam AI Contest 2025 has just concluded its first phase, but that is just the beginning of the intellectual and creative journey. Hundreds of ideas, thousands of hours of teamwork, tens of thousands of lines of code and countless human stories behind each project - all are waiting to be told in the Final Round scheduled to take place in December 2025.
