48 works won prizes in the photo contest on the People's Army and National Defense

(CPV) - The Organizing Committee has selected and awarded a total of 48 prizes, including 2 First prizes, 4 Second prizes, 6 Third prizes and 12 Encouragement prizes for each category of press and art photography of the National Press and Art Photography Contest with the theme "80 years of the Heroic Army".

On December 17, in Hanoi, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army chaired and coordinated with relevant ministries and branches to organize the Award Ceremony of the National Press and Artistic Photography Contest with the theme "80 Years of the Heroic Army", to honor outstanding works praising the spirit, will and heroic tradition of the Vietnam People's Army.

This is a meaningful event towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.

The contest, launched in April 2024, is a practical activity contributing to the propaganda and affirmation of the Party and State's correct policies and guidelines on military and national defense, building the Vietnam People's Army, building a strong national defense, and building a solid "people's heart position". At the same time, it affirms the position, role, functions and tasks of the Army; fosters and enhances patriotism, national pride, and sense of responsibility of the entire army and people to build a strong, modern, and elite Army to meet the requirements of the task of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation.

The Organizing Committee of the contest received 4,502 entries, including 1,601 press photos and 2,901 art photos from 1,495 authors from 63 provinces and cities nationwide. There were 80 art photos and press photos participating in the exhibition and entering the Final Round.

The Final Jury continued to judge and select 48 best works to award prizes for 2 categories of press photography and art photography, each category includes: 2 First prizes; 4 Second prizes; 6 Third prizes; 12 Encouragement prizes.

In the press photo category, the two outstanding works that won first prize were “The breathtaking moment of rescuing crew members on a ship in distress” by Nong Viet Linh and “Airborne landing training” by Vu Ngoc Hoang. Both works captured intense and emotional moments, reflecting the brave spirit and readiness to sacrifice for the mission of the soldiers.

Meanwhile, in the art photography category, the two first prizes went to “The Power of the King Cobra SU-30 MK2” by Nguyen Tien Anh Tuan and “The Power of the ‘Fire Dragon’ S-300 PMU1” by the group of authors Xuan Tung, Van Thuan, Van Oanh, Van Toan and Hai Ngoc. These photos not only demonstrate the modern power of the Vietnam People’s Army but are also highly artistic, leaving a strong impression on viewers.

According to the Organizing Committee, the award-winning photos demonstrated the spirit and will of our army and people, while conveying the historical values ​​and heroic traditions of the Vietnam People's Army; arousing patriotism, national pride and a sense of responsibility to protect the Fatherland./.
