In 2014 and 2017, An Giang sent two delegations of provincial leaders to Israel to study and promote the implementation of cooperation opportunities with Israeli partners. In the field of water resources, the Provincial People's Committee organized a delegation to attend a workshop on "Solutions to turn disadvantages into advantages and increase profits in water business", organized by the Embassy of Israel within the framework of the international exhibition on water supply and drainage industry VIETWATER 2014 in Ho Chi Minh City. In November 2015, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee participated in a discussion with the Embassy of Israel in Hanoi to learn about and call for investment cooperation with Israeli partners in many fields of agriculture, high technology and human resource training.
In the agricultural sector, from 2012 to present, An Giang Aquatic Breeding Center has signed 3 memorandums of understanding (MoU) with Tiran Company (Israel) on cooperation in producing all-male giant freshwater prawn from Israel. After 10 years of cooperation, the two sides have built the Israeli giant freshwater prawn brand and have established a foothold in the market, with stable business for many consecutive years. In 2024, the two sides will continue to expand the experimental research to all-male tilapia.
In the field of education and training, in 2014, An Giang University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ben-Gurion University, Negev, Beer-Sheva (Israel), including the following contents: Exchange of staff, lecturers, students; cooperation in organizing seminars, workshops, research projects and supporting the development of other academic activities of mutual interest. Within the framework of cooperation between An Giang University and the Construction, Services and Labor Cooperation Joint Stock Company (OLECO, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), from 2014 to present, An Giang University has organized 10 rounds of selection of students from the Faculty of Agriculture - Natural Resources to participate in the internship program in Israel. Bringing 159 students to participate in internship programs at training centers and farms in Israel, contributing to the training of high-quality human resources in the field of high-tech agriculture for An Giang province. After the internship, the students also have the opportunity to participate in the selection of postgraduate programs in Israel...

Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung shared: "An Giang has a Provincial Biotechnology Center, which really needs Israel to share its experience to contribute to the province's agricultural development and hopes to support scientists, research, and produce more products from the rice industry. In particular, we hope to connect so that Israeli businesses can research and invest in fields in An Giang, such as: Agricultural and aquatic product processing and manufacturing factories, rice or invest in industrial parks, high-tech agriculture, etc. At the same time, we want to connect so that An Giang province's key products, such as: rice, aquatic products, etc., can expand their export markets to Israel, as well as hope that Israeli businesses will promote their key products to An Giang."
Ambassador Yaron Mayer highly appreciated the strong friendship between Vietnam and Israel after 30 years of diplomatic relations. At the same time, he shared that this was his first visit and work in the Mekong Delta and An Giang province, where the economy is very dynamic and there are many opportunities to strengthen cooperation. At the same time, he was very excited to see the cooperation between An Giang and Israel in companies researching and developing aquatic breeds, water resources management, etc. in An Giang province. Ambassador Yaron Mayer also hoped that An Giang and Israel would cooperate more deeply in the future, and would promote exchange, cooperation and development programs between An Giang University and Israeli universities. Promoting cooperation between An Giang and Israel in tourism, science - technology, technology, circular agriculture, cultural exchange, etc. to further strengthen the friendship and develop the cooperative relationship between Israel and An Giang.
