Impressions of Sa Dec: From flower village, ancient house to the tourist capital of Dong Thap

Sa Dec Ward was established after merging 8 communes and wards of the old Sa Dec City, with a natural area of nearly 47 km² and a population of more than 104,000 people. This is a land of great potential, famous for ornamental flowers, cultural - historical - religious tourism .

At the 1st Congress of the Sa Dec Ward Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030 (held on August 14), many goals were set: developing tourism associated with preserving relics, ancient houses and religious buildings; promoting green growth, digital transformation; improving quality of life; no more poor households according to multidimensional standards; 100% of people using clean water and participating in health insurance; schools meeting national standards; building civilized and modern urban areas.

The ward aims to become the economic , social and tourist center of Dong Thap province and neighboring areas. Mr. Phan Van Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province, emphasized that in the 2025 - 2030 term, the Pa Dec Party Committee needs to continue to build a clean and strong Party; promote democracy, discipline, and solidarity; accelerate digital transformation and administrative reform; develop the economy in association with building a civilized and modern urban area; maintain national defense and security, and ensure social security. In particular, it is necessary to effectively exploit the strengths of ornamental plants and tourism, striving to make Sa Dec a driving force of the province and neighboring regions.
