Awarding certificate of merit from the Provincial People's Committee to Viettel Ben Tre
On this occasion, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee approved the decision of the Provincial People's Committee to award a certificate of merit to Viettel Ben Tre for actively supporting the construction of Great Solidarity houses for poor people in the province.
Previously, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province coordinated with the sponsor to organize a ceremony to hand over the great solidarity house to the household of Ms. Nguyen Thi Khiem, born in 1959, Tan Long hamlet, Thanh Phuoc commune; a poor household with housing difficulties. The house has an area of 65m2 . The total construction cost is 110 million VND; of which Viettel Ben Tre Branch sponsored 60 million VND, the remaining amount was contributed by family members.
According to Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Dang Thi Phuong, implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for households with meritorious services, poor households, and near-poor households in the province, in 2024, the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group - Viettel Ben Tre Branch supported 1.8 billion VND to build 30 solidarity houses for poor households with housing difficulties in the province.
Based on the supported budget, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Provincial Committee has allocated 6 houses to the districts: Giong Trom 6 houses, Ba Tri 5 houses, Binh Dai 5 houses, Chau Thanh 3 houses, Thanh Phu district 3 houses, Cho Lach district 3 houses, Mo Cay Nam 3 houses and Mo Cay Bac 2 houses.
From February 2025 to now, the districts have deployed the construction and completed 30 houses. Each house has a maximum area of 70m2 and a minimum of 32m2 . The houses are built to ensure 3 hard (including hard foundation, hard frame, hard roof) reinforced concrete columns, frame, corrugated iron roof, cement floor, main door and side door are fully installed.
During the process of implementing housing construction for households, localities regularly pay attention to inspecting and supervising the implementation; mobilizing support for working days for elderly households living alone. In addition to the supported funds, localities mobilize additional support for funds, construction materials, working days; mobilize households and relatives of households to contribute additional funds and working days so that the completed house will be more spacious. The total cost of a house after completion is the highest at 120 million VND and the lowest at 70 million VND; in which, the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group - Viettel Ben Tre Branch supports each house with 60 million VND, the rest is mobilized by families, relatives, and localities.
The results of the implementation show that the houses were built according to plan. The construction process was carried out strictly, with the supervision of local authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, organizations and additional contributions of funds and labor days from households. The completed houses have contributed to improving the living conditions of poor households, helping them stabilize their lives and feel secure in their work. In particular, the program also demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of the community in supporting the poor.
