(BDO) On May 11, at the Nirvana Buddha Statue Cultural Center - Hoi Khanh Pagoda (Thu Dau Mot City), the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) solemnly held the Vesak Festival, Buddhist calendar 2569 - Gregorian calendar 2025. Attending were Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, Standing Committee Member, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan, Standing Committee Member, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Dong, Standing Committee Member, Secretary of the Thu Dau Mot City Party Committee, and representatives of departments, branches, sectors, and organizations of the province and Thu Dau Mot City.

Reading the message of Buddha's birthday - Buddhist year 2569 of the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Council, Most Venerable Thich Hue Thong, Vice President of the Executive Council, Head of the Legal Department of the Central Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee emphasized the sacred role of the spirit of solidarity and tolerance in the cause of building peace , happiness and sustainable development for humanity. Solidarity and tolerance are not only Buddhist ethical doctrines, but also the guiding principles for people's thoughts, words and actions to build a peaceful society, less conflict, full of love.

Attending the ceremony, delegates, monks, nuns and Buddhists performed rituals such as chanting Buddha's birthday sutras; bathing Buddha; releasing doves and balloons to pray for world peace.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan sent his best wishes to the religious dignitaries, as well as all monks, nuns, and Buddhists in the province for a Buddha's birthday full of health, peace, and success. Informing about some of the positive results achieved by the province in the past time and in the first quarter of 2025, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan emphasized that these achievements have had a significant contribution from people of all religions, including Buddhism.

He highly appreciated the role and contributions of the Buddhist Sangha at all levels and monks and nuns in the province who have set an example in implementing and mobilizing Buddhist followers to well implement the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and organizations, especially in social charity activities.
