Raising white horses is an economic development direction that helps many households in Bang Thanh escape poverty and become rich. |
During the past term, Bang Thanh's economy continued to maintain a positive growth momentum. The total production value of each year was higher than the previous year, estimated to reach over 113 billion VND by 2025, with an average growth rate of about 7%/year. The economic structure shifted in the right direction, gradually increasing the proportion of services, industry and construction; gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture and forestry in the economic structure.
Agricultural production continues to be stable with many effective farming models. The commune takes advantage of State capital through national target programs to focus on supporting people to develop key crops such as high-quality rice, corn, cassava, fruit trees and develop medicinal plant growing areas such as cat sam, turmeric, ginger; gradually forming specialized areas, applying scientific and technical advances to improve productivity and quality.
The livestock sector develops towards commodities, ensuring environmental hygiene; currently the commune maintains a total herd of over 6,000 cattle, 28,000 pigs, and 130,000 poultry. The model of raising buffaloes, cows for breeding, raising pigs, and free-range chickens associated with effective epidemic prevention contributes to increasing income.
Along with agriculture, the service and trade sector has seen many positive changes. Up to now, the whole commune has over 300 organizations and individual businesses, including over 50 households providing accommodation and food services and over 20 households providing other services.
The supply system of goods is increasingly diverse and abundant, basically meeting the production and consumption needs of the people. Some households boldly invest in on-site agricultural processing, initially forming a new direction for production associated with product consumption.
In particular, infrastructure serving economic development has been focused on investment. The inter-village and inter-commune road system has been upgraded, irrigation, electricity and domestic water works have been newly invested or repaired, serving production and people's daily life well...
Thanks to these efforts, the average income per capita in 2025 will reach about 30 million VND/person/year, the poverty rate will decrease to over 30%, and the material and spiritual life of the people will gradually improve.
The model of growing mulberry and raising silkworms is focused on expanding in scale by Bang Thanh commune. |
In the period 2025-2030, the commune will continue to focus on developing agriculture towards commodities associated with building advanced new rural areas. Developing forest economy, non-timber forest products and medicinal plants. Gradually promoting the development of small-scale industry and services. Shifting the economic structure towards modernity and sustainability.
According to Mr. Ca Van Thuong, Chairman of Bang Thanh Commune People's Committee, the commune has proposed a number of groups of tasks and solutions, such as: Re-planning production areas towards specialized cultivation of key crops and livestock. Promoting the development of agriculture and forestry towards commodities. Actively supporting people in applying scientific and technical advances, replicating organic agriculture models, circular green agriculture. Strengthening production linkages, product consumption through cooperatives, cooperative groups, and enterprises. Encouraging people to participate in forest protection and development, promoting forest protection contracts, and developing non-timber forest products with high economic value.
With clear orientations, goals and solutions, the commune closely combines economic development with implementing social security policies, caring for people's lives, maintaining political stability and rural security.
