According to the VNA correspondent in Seoul, the resolution, submitted by lawmaker Park Chan Dae – who is running for the chairmanship of the DP party – emphasizes that PPP lawmakers have seriously obstructed law enforcement.
Specifically, 45 PPP lawmakers reportedly gathered outside Yoon Suk Yeol's residence on January 6th, the same day that anti-corruption investigators were attempting to enforce an arrest warrant against him – who was suspended from the presidency and awaiting an impeachment ruling from the Constitutional Court.
Among the PPP lawmakers named were high-ranking figures such as former party chairman Kim Gi Hyeon, lawmaker Na Kyung Won, and Yoon Sang Hyun.
According to Korean law, the dismissal of a member of parliament is only effective if approved by at least two-thirds of the total number of incumbent members of parliament./.
