On the afternoon of June 14, 2023, Hai Duong Provincial Museum held a ceremony to celebrate its 35th anniversary (June 15, 1988 - June 15, 2023).
Attending the event were comrades: Dang Viet Cuong, former member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, former Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Vu Dinh Tien, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, generations of leaders, cadres, civil servants and employees who have worked at the Hai Duong Provincial Museum and a number of businesses and individuals who have made positive contributions to the Museum's activities.Hai Duong Provincial Museum was established under Decision No. 13/TC dated June 15, 1988, as a unit under the Department of Culture and Information (now the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism). Like other local research museums in the country, Hai Duong Provincial Museum was established with the task of collecting, preserving, inventorying, conserving and displaying artifacts, collecting artifacts on natural history and social history, to serve the needs of research,education , sightseeing and cultural enjoyment of the people.

After 35 years of construction and development, the Provincial Museum has grown, matured and increasingly improved its apparatus, organizational structure and professional and technical work .
Currently, the Museum has more than 52,000 documents, artifacts, and images collected and preserved. Among them are many valuable artifacts and collections such as: Huu Chung bronze drum - the first national treasure of Hai Duong province recognized by the Prime Minister in 2015; Chu Dau ceramic collection, Cu Lao Cham ceramic collection, ancient tomb collection, cannons, fossil animal bones... which contribute significantly to the activities of displaying, promoting and spreading the good cultural and traditional values of the land and people of Hai Duong.

In particular, to innovate, improve the quality of activities, attract visitors, since 2017, the Museum has researched, restored and put into operation a number of traditional crafts such as: pottery making, making green rice flakes, decorating star lanterns, making banh troi and banh chay, wrapping banh chung... and organized folk games such as: Blindfolded pot smashing, tug of war, catching loach in a jar, blindfolded drumming, eating mandarin squares, playing volleyball. Thanks to that, the number of visitors to the Museum has increased day by day. From 2018 to now, the museum has welcomed more than 60,000 visitors to visit and experience, especially students to research and study.
With the achieved results, Hai Duong Provincial Museum was recognized as a Type 2 Museum and recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a provincial-level tourist destination according to Decision No. 243 /QD-UBND dated January 18, 2022 .
At the ceremony, the Provincial Museum received a number of artifacts from businesses and individuals. Among them was the ceramic painting “Old Hai Duong Town” by the Hai Duong Ceramic Art Club, a blue and white ceramic vase painted by the excellent artisan Ha Ba Dinh himself…
Hai Duong Ceramic Art Club presented the painting "Ancient Hai Duong Town" to the Provincial Museum.
