World and Vietnam Newspapers promote cooperation with Greek media

From April 23-25, Editor-in-Chief of The Gioi va Viet Nam Newspaper Nguyen Truong Son had a working trip to Greece to exchange experiences and promote international cooperation in the field of communications with a number of press and media agencies of the host country.

Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son and Mr. Nikos Georgiadis, CEO of Zougla Newspaper signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation.

Also joining the delegation was Mr. Le Hong Truong, former Deputy Editor-in-Chief and former Vietnamese Ambassador to Greece. The main activities of the working trip included: signing a cooperation agreement with Zougla Newspaper ; visiting and working with Rizospastis Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Greek Communist Party; visiting Kapa Studios of the Athens Media Group and working with the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece.

During the working trip, Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son and Mr. Nikos Georgiadis, CEO of Zougla Newspaper signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Newspaper Headquarters in Athens. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nikos Georgiadis said that Zougla is one of the three most visited e-newspapers in Greece and Southern Europe, published in 17 languages.

A representative of Zougla Newspaper said that cooperation between the two press agencies will create more favorable conditions for spreading information and images about Vietnam to the Greek public and vice versa.

Zougla Newspaper's CEO proposed that the two sides soon realize the agreement through specific forms such as exchanging news, articles, and daily images, introducing and sharing characters, interview content, producing joint media programs, and sharing experiences in applying new technology in producing press products.

Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son expressed his pleasure in visiting the newspaper and having a specific form of cooperation with one of the leading newspapers in Greece. This is also the first media agency that The Gioi and Vietnam Newspaper signed a cooperation agreement with in Europe.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Son said that signing a cooperation agreement with a major newspaper in Southern Europe is an important step in carrying out the mission of "bringing Vietnam closer to the world and the world closer to Vietnam", one of the goals that The Gioi and Viet Nam Newspaper has strived to achieve in recent years.

In addition, the signing of this specific cooperation agreement will create favorable opportunities for The World and Vietnam Newspaper to strengthen the foreign information work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the whole country.

Continuing the working program, Editor-in-Chief of The World and Vietnam Newspaper Nguyen Truong Son visited and worked with Rizospastis Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE). The working session was attended by Mr. Kyrillos Papastavrou - Member of the KKE Politburo , General Director of Rizospastis Newspaper, together with Mr. Pericles Kourmoulis - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper and members of the Editorial Board of Rizospastis Newspaper.

The Board of Directors of Rizospastis Newspaper welcomed Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son and the delegation to visit and work with the Newspaper; expressed good feelings and admiration for the country and people of Vietnam.

Editor-in-Chief Pericles Kourmoulis informed about the situation and media activities of the Greek Communist Party newspaper, highly appreciated the effective coordination between Rizospastis Newspaper and the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece in recent times, and wished to expand cooperation with The Gioi and Viet Nam Newspaper , the media agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as the Vietnamese press in general.

Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son informed the Board of Directors of Rizospastis Newspaper about the situation in Vietnam and the recent good friendship between the two countries. The leaders of The Gioi and Viet Nam Newspaper expressed their gratitude for the support of the Greek Communist Party for the Vietnamese revolution, especially during the war years.

The leader of the World and Vietnam Newspaper mentioned soldier Kostas Sarantidis - Nguyen Van Lap, who fought with the Viet Minh during the French colonial period in Vietnam and was awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Vietnamese State, a symbol of the strong friendship between the two countries.

At the meeting, the two sides also shared their experiences in the field of journalism and propaganda about the Communist Party, and discussed the possibility of cooperation in sharing news, images, and interviews with personalities between the two press agencies. The leaders of the Greek Communist Party Newspaper expressed their desire to connect more widely with not only the World and Vietnam Newspapers but also the media agencies of the two countries in the coming time.

During the trip, Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son also visited and worked with Kapa Studios under the Athens Media Group - a major Greek television production unit with about 600 employees and many "popular" programs in the region.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed the modern press environment, new media trends and the application of digital technology in the production of multimedia products in today's highly competitive press environment.

Kapa Studios representatives expressed their willingness to cooperate with The Gioi and Viet Nam Newspaper and Vietnamese media partners in producing television programs and products, expanding the media presence between the two countries.

Working with the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece, Ambassador Pham Thi Thu Huong thanked The Gioi and Vietnam Newspaper for their close coordination and providing quick and timely information about the Embassy's activities as well as foreign affairs and cooperation between the two countries in recent times.

The Ambassador informed about some main features of the relationship between the two countries and the activities of the Embassy to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The Ambassador asked the Newspaper to continue to coordinate and support the Embassy in foreign information work, including a series of activities to celebrate 5 decades of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son thanked the Embassy for its effective cooperation and support for the delegation, and shared the results of the work with Greek press agencies during the trip. The Editor-in-Chief agreed with the Embassy's proposals and was ready to coordinate more closely between the two agencies in information and propaganda work, contributing to promoting the friendly relations between Vietnam and Greece. The leaders of The Gioi Va Viet Nam Newspaper also requested the Ambassador and the Embassy to continue supporting the Newspaper in effectively implementing the results achieved from this trip.
