Indonesian sports newspaper makes surprising comments about Vietnam Olympic team

Bola.Okezone newspaper believes that Olympic Vietnam is not the worst team in Southeast Asia even though it was eliminated in the group stage of ASIAD 19.

At ASIAD 19, Vietnam Olympic team did not perform well and was eliminated in the group stage. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan’s team ranked 3rd in Group B but could not qualify for the next round as they were at the bottom of the 3rd place rankings.

However, according to Bola.Okezone , Vietnam Olympic team is not the worst team in Southeast Asia at ASIAD 19. Instead, this newspaper believes that Thailand Olympic team is the least convincing.

This newspaper has an article with the headline: "Indonesia Olympics are still safe. Thailand Olympics are the worst in Southeast Asia".

The author emphasized: "In the group stage of ASIAD 19, Olympic Thailand was the worst team in Southeast Asia, not Olympic Vietnam. Why do you say that?

Among the 4 Southeast Asian teams participating in ASIAD 19, only Olympic Vietnam was eliminated in the group stage. After 3 matches, Olympic Vietnam earned 3 points after winning against Olympic Mongolia.

In the remaining two matches, coach Hoang Anh Tuan's team lost 0-4 to Olympic Iran and 1-3 to Olympic Saudi Arabia.

Vietnam Olympic team could not qualify for the next round due to the tournament rules. The organizers did not count the results of the matches against the bottom team when considering the performance of the third-placed team. Therefore, Vietnam Olympic team did not get any points.

However, if we consider the overall results, Vietnam Olympic team is still better than Thailand Olympic team. The representative of the "Land of the Golden Pagoda" could not win any match in the group stage. They lost heavily to South Korea Olympic team and only got 2 points after draws with Bahrain Olympic team and Kuwait Olympic team.

Thailand's Olympic achievements are worse than Myanmar's Olympic achievements. This team won against Bangladesh, tied with India and only lost to China.
