Start investigating Enterprises in 2025

NDO - Business Survey 2025 uses an indirect survey method by collecting information online through the use of an electronic webform survey.

The General Statistics Office said that the 2025 Enterprise Survey will be conducted nationwide from April 1, 2025. This is an annual survey within the National Statistical Survey Program issued under Decision No. 03/2023/QD-TTg dated February 15, 2023 of the Prime Minister .

Regarding the investigation plan and scope of implementation, the 2025 Enterprise Survey will be conducted in 63 provinces and centrally-run cities for enterprises with production and business activities in all sectors in the Vietnam Economic Sector System (VSIC 2018) except for 3 sectors, including: Activities of the Communist Party, socio- political organizations, state management, security-defense, compulsory social security; activities of international organizations and agencies; activities of hiring domestic workers, production of material products and self-consumption services of households.

The subjects of the survey are production and business establishments with production and business activities within the scope of one economic sector at one location (economic sector unit by location) of all national economic sectors, except for the three sectors mentioned above.

In addition, the 2025 Enterprise Survey also collects information on enterprises, cooperatives/cooperative unions to serve the management, operation, assessment and forecasting of the socio-economic situation, policy making, and development planning of the entire economy and each locality.

The results of the Survey also serve to calculate the gross domestic product (GDP), gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2024, other statistical indicators of the National Accounts System and statistical indicators of economic sectors.

This survey also helps the statistics sector compile the "2025 Enterprise White Book" and "2025 Cooperative White Book"; synthesize indicators of the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors from enterprises participating in agricultural, forestry and fishery production within the scope of the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census; update the database as a sampling frame for statistical surveys on enterprises and meet the needs of other information users.

Regarding implementation time, the survey will be conducted from April 1, 2025 and end on June 30, 2025 for provinces and cities with 5,000 or more enterprises.

The two major localities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, will complete the survey on July 31, 2025. The remaining provinces and cities will conduct the survey from April 1, 2025 to May 31, 2025.

As for corporations and general companies, the investigation will take place from June 1, 2025 to July 15, 2025.

According to the 2024 Vietnam Enterprise White Book compiled by the General Statistics Office from the results of the 2024 Enterprise Survey, as of December 31, 2023, the country had nearly 921.4 thousand operating enterprises, an increase of 2.8% over the same period in 2022. Of which, the service sector had more than 628 thousand enterprises, accounting for 68.2% of the total number of enterprises nationwide. The largest number of enterprises was in Ho Chi Minh City with 273.1 thousand enterprises, accounting for 29.6% of the total number of operating enterprises nationwide.

The General Statistics Office said that the 2025 Enterprise Survey uses an indirect survey method by collecting information online through the use of an electronic survey form called Webform.

The investigation units will provide information on the Webform on the Business Investigation Information Portal of the General Statistics Office through the system of authenticating the name and code (password) of the enterprise when accessing the system to fill out the investigation form https://thongkedoanhnghiep.gov.vn.
