Phuc Son Pagoda is located on Phuong Hoang Mountain. According to some documents, this relic was built in 1680 - during the Le Trung Hung period (16th century). During the resistance war against France and the US, the pagoda was a place to discuss guerrilla plans, a medical station, and a temporary shelter for our army and people.
Through the years of war and the ups and downs of time, although it has deteriorated and had to be restored and embellished many times, the pagoda still retains many artifacts, documents, and Buddhist historical materials of historical and cultural value.
In 2021, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha presided over the project to renovate and embellish Phuc Son Pagoda, including the following items: Tam Quan gate, Tam Bao pagoda, ancestral house, guest house, monk house, lecture hall, Buddha tower, Tu An house... and many other auxiliary works. The entire project is structured with elaborately carved and carved ironwood trusses...

A large number of people and children in Tan Yen district poured into the streets to carry the Buddha's relics. |
The highlight of the pagoda is the 13-storey tower, inside which is a rare jade Buddha. This is the most unique jade statue of King Tran Nhan Tong in Vietnam. The statue was made from a block of jade originating from the Cassiar Mountains (Canada) and was brought to the Phuc Son pagoda tower. Over the years, the pagoda has become a meaningful pilgrimage destination, a place for Buddhist activities of Buddhists in and outside the province; a place to organize summer retreats and ethics classes for young people in the area.
The ceremony to enshrine the Buddha's relics not only has profound cultural and spiritual significance but also affirms the role of Phuc Son Pagoda in the work of preserving, maintaining and promoting the value of Vietnamese Buddhist cultural heritage. At the same time, it is an opportunity for the province to promote and introduce the image of the land and people of Bac Giang, who love peace , solidarity, friendliness and compassion.
