The result ensures that President Maduro's party will maintain control of key institutions, including the country's Attorney General's Office and Supreme Court.

In addition, CNE also said that Mr. Maduro's government still won 23 out of 24 state governor positions, signaling the defeat of the opposition, which previously controlled 4 states.

According to CNE President Carlos Quintero, the number of voters turned out to vote was 8.9 million, a figure similar to that in the 2021 election. The results of the legislative election are expected to pave the way for the ruling party to continue to control the Attorney General's Office and the Supreme Court.

Previously, on May 25, millions of Venezuelan voters participated in local and national elections to choose 24 state governors, 285 national legislative assembly deputies and 260 local legislative assembly deputies.

Venezuela is reportedly hosting more than 400 international observers from around the world to monitor the election. In addition, more than 400,000 security personnel were deployed to monitor the vote across the country and more than 70 people were arrested for causing trouble.
