The Party Central Committee agreed to let Mr. Vo Van Thuong resign from his positions.

1. Comrade Vo Van Thuong is a key leader of the Party and State, who received basic training and grew up from the grassroots and was assigned to hold many important leadership positions of the Party and State. However, according to the recent report of the Central Inspection Committee and the competent authorities, he violated the Regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do, the Regulations on exemplary responsibilities of cadres and Party members, first of all, Politburo members, Secretariat members, Central Party Committee members and is responsible for the leader according to the Party's regulations and the State's laws. Comrade Vo Van Thuong's violations and shortcomings have caused negative public opinion, affecting the prestige of the Party, the State and himself. Fully aware of his responsibility to the Party, the State and the People, he submitted a request to resign from his assigned positions and retire.

Pursuant to current regulations of the Party and State and considering the wishes of comrade Vo Van Thuong, the Party Central Committee agreed to let comrade Vo Van Thuong cease to hold the positions of: Member of the Politburo , Member of the 13th Party Central Committee, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council for the 2021-2026 term.

2. Comrade Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, member of the 13th Party Central Committee, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Vinh Phuc province, has degraded in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle; seriously violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks; violated the Regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example; was negative, accepted bribes, causing very serious consequences, causing public outrage, and very negatively affecting the reputation of the Party organization and local government.

Based on the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of the violation; and implementing the Party's Regulations on disciplinary action against violating Party organizations and Party members, the Party Central Committee decided to discipline comrade Hoang Thi Thuy Lan by expelling her from the Party.

The Party Central Committee assigned the Politburo to direct relevant agencies to implement procedures according to regulations.
