On October 27, prolonged heavy rains combined with rising water levels of the Perfume River flooded most of the grounds of Hue Central Hospital - the largest special-class hospital in the Central region. Floodwaters inundated many departments and rooms on the first floor such as the Tropical Diseases Department, Dermatology Department, Pulmonary Diseases Department, Stroke - Neurology Center, Maxillofacial Department and the first floor area of the Cardiovascular Center.
Since yesterday afternoon, doctors and medical staff have had to actively move patients from the first floor to the second floor to ensure safety and avoid flooding. At the same time, medical equipment and machinery have been placed on high places or moved to dry places.
As of the evening of October 27, the hospital grounds were still deeply submerged. Many cars were half submerged, making it difficult to move around the area.
Hue City Police mobilized dozens of officers and soldiers to the hospital to coordinate with doctors, medical staff, security guards... to bring dozens of patients and medical equipment to the upper floors to ensure patient safety during treatment.
