Charity kitchen for poor patients

(ABO) That is the Charity Kitchen - Cho Gao District Medical Center, Tien Giang Province. Over the years, promoting the tradition of "The good leaves cover the torn leaves", in order to share difficulties with the less fortunate, especially poor patients, this charity kitchen has been operating continuously and has become a "rescue" for thousands of poor patients receiving treatment at Cho Gao District Medical Center.

The charity kitchen was established many years ago. In 2015, the kitchen was taken over by the Cho Gao District Medical Center. The kitchen has 20 members who are divided into groups to work, with an average of 7-10 people working in each group at the kitchen.

Kitchen staff prepare food and cook nutritious and safe dishes to serve patients.

Every day, the kitchen serves 100 to 150 free meals of rice, porridge and hot water to patients and their relatives receiving inpatient treatment at Cho Gao District Medical Center; on Saturday and Sunday, it serves an average of 100 to 110 free meals. The thoughtful and enthusiastic service of the charity kitchen has mobilized the participation of philanthropists, organizations and individuals. This is the joint effort of the whole community, thanks to which the kitchen has been maintained for more than 10 years, becoming a "salvation" for thousands of poor patients.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Tho, Deputy Director of the Charity Kitchen - Cho Gao District Medical Center, said that every day, from early morning, the kitchen members take turns to prepare food and cook nutritious and safe dishes to serve patients. It is known that the daily cost for the kitchen is more than 1 million VND, contributed by kind-hearted people, some support rice, vegetables, eggs, meat, some donate money, contribute labor... The bowls of rice and porridge that fill the hearts of poor patients also warm the hearts of those working in the charity kitchen.

Holding a hot meal in her hand, Ms. Huynh Thi Be Hai, in Tan Thuan Binh commune, Cho Gao district, is very grateful to the Charity Kitchen - Cho Gao District Medical Center for supporting and helping poor patients and their relatives have meals, reducing costs during the treatment process.

Everyone has their own work and is busy with their family, but the members of the Charity Kitchen - Cho Gao District Medical Center try to arrange their time to keep the kitchen always on fire. The noble gestures, the goodwill, the hot meals have warmed the hearts of poor patients being treated at Cho Gao District Medical Center.

Hopefully, the Charity Kitchen - Cho Gao District Medical Center will continue to be maintained with more and more attention and support from benefactors, to join hands to encourage and motivate patients to overcome their illnesses.
